Just buy some aquarium-safe silicone. They sell it at your LFS or in the glues section (Paint Department at Home Depot).

when i was building a sump from a glass 55g, i used acrylic baffles with silicone. when i filled it up for the first time it blew out the baffles seperating the refugium zone from the return zone partly because i didnt equalize the water in each chamber, but also because the acrylic baffles just slid right out of the silicone...

Because the overflow is in the corner of the tank usually, silicone does fine. The water pressure of the display is pressing the corner overflow even more into the glass walls.
