Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

Here is how I hung my lights, one is a photon 24 the other is a 32 photon. I am planning to hang a photon 48 the same way on the other leg of the tank.

Just putting this out there for everyone to use as an idea.

So I plan to make the jump to LED's soon I currently have a 75gal with 8" center brace. It's a mixed reef mainly with lps & softies but I'd like to be able to keep sps in the future. I saw in some post people said the brace didn't interfere too much with light. Was wondering what a good recommendation would be. I was thinking either 2 photon16 or 1 photon32 or 48.

Just placed my order today for a Photon 16. I'm really excited about the new lights. Will post once I receive them.

Anyone have issues with clams under these lights?

My EverGrow IT2040 (same as your Photon16) gives me a 200 PAR at 22" deep in the tank. Your clam will be perfectly happy there.

No Offense, But i see mostly empty Rock illuminated tanks! The only Running Reef is Ron's. Anybody have Pics of a SPS Tank that has been running these fixtures ? Seems like mostly Softy Success.
Thanks!

My tank is young but I have several acros and montis as well as some easier stuff hammers growing quite nicely using a reef breeder value fixture and 7 3w RB crees. My tank is young but has really started booming since changing over my filter system.

I have to admit, I do wonder when people post up pics of their tank and it's all rock or rock with a few tiny coral frags. Man that doesn't look anything like a reef. And I've never paid much attention to the Reef of the Month feature here on RC. I started to a long time ago, but it seems most of them are all about having lots of hardware... you know, the brand name stuff that are the sponsors here on RC. And there is nothing wrong with that, it's just I'm more into keeping it simple and as natural as I can. So I don't know, but do any of them use leds?

Well you've seen mine. And a friend who just moved and therefore sold his tank had a 2 year old 210g that was like mine (in that it was sps and lps) and at 2 years of all leds (1 year with Chinese all white and blue and 7 months with EG IT2080's). It was getting pretty full and some of the early corals were getting pretty big. In fact I have a big piece of his purple bubble coral that was growing out of control (it's in my anemone tank).

Hey Ron, I sent you a pm regarding purchasing 120 degree optics. Wasn't sure if you had a chance to read it. I need to get them soon. Let me know.

Sorry to hijak this thread. The D120 lights are great btw.

It seems that my IT2040 defaults back to the 1 hours setting when I simulate a power outage by unplugging it. I've done both of the steps above, but can't get it to automatically go back to the 1/2 hour mode. After plugging back in, I have to hit 'Menu' then scroll down to 'Custom' and hit 'OK' then hit 'Menu' twice to get back to the main screen. I do not need to do any adjustments while in 'Custom' and it shows it is in the 1/2 hour mode. After doing those key strokes, it goes to the right settings, but before I do that, the light intensity is at the 1 hour mode setting for that time.

I was very nervous for a while because I hadn't yet programmed the 1 hour settings, so it was coming back on with both channels at 100%, which is the default setting during the afternoon. Not good for me since this is on a shallow tank and I am currently only at 30% blue and 10% white while ramping up a little each week.

The only way I could avoid everything coming back on at 100% was to program the 1 hour setting to similar intensity as my 1/2 hour settings. At least I won't bleach my corals if I have a power outage while away from home.

But I would still like for it to come back on with the 1/2 hour settings automatically. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ron

Can anyone with the 1/2 hours settings confirm whether their custom program stays in 1/2 hour mode after a power outage (unplug and plug back in)? To confirm this, you need to program the 1 hour setting to light intensities that are different from your 1/2 hour settings. On mine, after plugging back in and going into the custom program mode, it says it is in 1/2 hour mode, but the light intensity is at the 1 hour setting. When I exit back out of program mode it goes back to the correct 1/2 hour intensity.

Thanks,
Ron

I did... I mean a SPS Tank, Not a growth Shot of one Milli and a tank full of Bare Rocks. A Fully packed SPS Tank.

I have had a 32" Reefbreeders fixture over my sps reef for almost 6 months. I had two Ai Sols over it previously and have had much better colors and growth from the Reefbreeders fixture. The tank is 65 gallons and has had the same corals in it for around a year.

Just got my Photon 16 in. This is a very high quality looking fixture. Now I just need to design my fixture mount and then post pictures over my tank. Really happy with the build quality and touch interface.

How long has it been taking you guys to get your fixtures. Waiting has been such a pain.

It took about two weeks from the time I ordered over the phone until they were shipped. Logan made it crystal clear that it might take 3-4 weeks, but he delivered in half that time. They were shipped to me directly from China via DHL, and Logan sent me email notices all along the way. I was surprised, but it looked like DHL got them to me in about 48 hours from China!

You haven't said how long you've been waiting, or what time frame was promised. I'd be interested to hear.

The build quality is great, and I'm very happy with mine lights.

The oldest non group buy order we have now is about a week, and we have every fixture we stock coming in about a week. We are making some improvements to the controllers on the photon series, but the value fixtures should be in next week, the photons will be close behind, possibly in next week as well. Send me a pm with your name, and I will get you a status update.
