Royal-Exclusiv Alpha Cone - 170 / 200 / 300 Announcement & Pre-Orders!

Sean,

It's hard to beat a beckett or downdraft in terms of performance. The only downside there is that you have to do a lot of tinkering with them and run a big pump. I might have the Omega skimmers in time for MACNA and we could work out something for you to pick it up there and I could display it for the weekend.

Dale,

No problem at all on switching if you decide to. Give me a call when you get time and we'll get you all set up, 317-895-9005.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Sounds good...definitely let me know.

Jeremy,
Any update on the estimated ship date for the 200, actual foot print, ideal water depth (10"?) etc... ?

Thx!

I have not been able to find this yet, and no one has brought it up but:

What kind of warranty does the Alpha cone skimmers have???

Thanks in advance,
Darryl

Darryl,

Warranty on the skimmer is 2yrs, with a 10yr part replacement availability guarantee.
Jeremy,
Is it the same for the pumps too?

Any update on the footprint and pumps of the 170/200/300? A little odd that these are claimed to be weeks away from release, but such details are unknown.

Same warranty for the pumps too! :)

The skimmers are on the way, Klaus just has not emailed the specs over to us yet.

New to the whole pre-order thing, so sorry if the question is out of line...

When do you expect that you will receive, and then ship the skimmers out to us that pre-ordered?

the skimmers are on the way? that means i'll get mine next week, right?...lol. so looking forward to getting my 170.

one thing you can count on with premium aquatics is top notch service and i am sure our pre-orders will be shipped out as soon as they come in. wish i lived closer like mojo then i'd be waiting at premiums door to get mine off the truck! how can a grown man be so excited about a plastic device that creates crud?...lol

lol i hear you. I am pretty excited to see what the 170 specs are. I would like to compare this to an atb 840 and wm k2. I know I havent had the best of luck with a 250 but i think its just too big for me. even though its on about 130 gallons of water or so.
We will see.

you're the reason i am going with the 170 instead of the 200, mojo. i don't want an oversized skimmer that doesnt produce as well as it should, which sounds like what happened with you and the 250. the 250 is rated up to 400 gals and on a one thirty a 170 just might be the right size skimmer. i have about 100 gallons of water in my system and i think the 170 is the right size for me. hopefully the specs will be out soon as i'd have no problem getting the 200 if needed.

Jeremy, I have a 120g and a gravity fed DAS EX-1 (AP600 clone). I think it is performing badly but don't know the exact reason. Anyway, the thing is I have only 8.5' x 16' x 24' footprint for the skimmer. Will the Alpha 200 fit? Also, does it have any water level requirements? Or maybe I should go with the 170.. Or even the vertex 250 for an economical replacement? Thanks.
Can you answer to perisse@gmail.com too?

A**H** like you, trying to sell me the 250 knowing that I have a 90 rr like you. I am very happy I did not make the purchase from you. If it was not for LCN (local experience reefer), I would have make a big mistake.

Perisse i would look into the 170. Thats if it were my choice. TIFWIW
I would use the 170 on tanks up to 150 heavily stocked, The 200 on tanks up to 220-250 heavily stocked, And the 250 on tanks up to 300-340 heavily stocked from what i see.
When i mean heavily tocked its just that alot of fish. :)
