Schreiba's ADA 60-F

Have you tried dosing AA's or feeding more? No offense, you know I love your tank, but that RP is looking pretty pale. Maybe it's just the picture. Sorry, again, no offense :)

Yeah I'm dosing Pohl's Xtra and feeding a combination of reef pearls/freeze dried cyclopeeze. It was actually paler than that and has been coloring up over the last few weeks. I just want to find the balance of dosing the right amount of AA's and not overdo it and cause problems. I appreciate the honest opinion though!

Hello schreiba!
Your tank is too great that i come and update this thread everyday!
There is only two tanks made me mad like this, adding yours one to three now!
Really glad for your kindly sharing : )

Here i would like to ask:
1) how do you feel about the mame overflow? Is it really fail-safe as overflow never break?

2) i am really impressed on your crystal-clear water. Are The chemipure and purigen doing the job without bad effect on any creatures?

Thanks I really appreciate that!

I really love my MAME overflow and only really have two issues with it. You have to clean it about once a month and it can be a bit of a challenge the first few times. After the first week and a half it looks kind of dirty too which could bother some. Secondly, sometimes a bubble can start to form in the drain line which you have to be aware of. This is usually an indicator for me that is it time for the MAME to be cleaned. If you really neglected the tank and didn't pay attention you could have a water spill.

I actually don't use chemipure or purigen anymore. I use ROX carbon in a phosban reactor in order for the carbon to be more effective. If you decide to go this route be sure to start with a very small amount as overdoing it can kill your corals. I hope this all helps!

nice setup!!i might be getting a tank like yours in the next few weeks.
Thanks! That's great too! Be sure to start a tank thread and post lots of pictures :)

Thanks schreiba!
I have just brought the mame overflow and protein skimmer.
The protein skimmer is now using in my nano tank and performing great.
You may want to give it a try!

As i am planning to make a sump with the overflow, which return pump are u currently using or u recommend?

I am so digging your tank. Thats the second shallow rimless tank that is so mesmerizing with great aquascaping, live stocks, and awesome pics.

I actually have a reef octopus skimmer in my sump which does a great job, thanks though! I also use an eheim 1048 for return pump and it has worked flawlessly for me.

Thanks I really appreciate it killereef!

SPS garden is really filling out and looking great!! Be careful though, that dang xenia will take over a small tank in no time flat.

Thanks ange! And yeah since my tank is running pretty low nutrients the xenia doesn't really grow anymore. I haven't had to pull any out in months and the only real reason I leave those couple stalks in is for the clownfish.

So this is one of the reasons I take so many pictures of my corals...

This guy has been through a lot, I originally got it at Mr. Coral in early January 2011 as a fresh cut frag. It has been mounted in multiple places in my tank, knocked over, neglected, and even experienced some STN at the base. It goes through quite the color changes as well throughout the time I've had it. I know the overall amount of growth I got over the year and a half is pretty bad but now that the conditions are right is it growing like crazy. It's one of my favorite pieces which just goes to show that you should never give up on a coral! Enjoy!
