Shallow reef tank Club

Yep, I remember reading about your build. Very nicely done. That is one clean looking set up. How long you had the LEDS btw? I shudder to think what it cost but man it looks like it puts out a ton of light and your livestock looks really good from what I can see as well.

Thanks, had the LED's for about 6 months, and I don't want to think about that it cost me either. ;) Par is rediculously high, in-fact I'm trying to cut back on light and raising them up to get some color back.

Good to hear you got a lot of bang for your buck then. How much did your energy bill go down if you don't mind me asking?

What a great thread, so happy I found it, gorgeous tanks eveyone! I am upgrading my 55g reef to a rimless 70g-95g, still deciding which one.

Either 48x18x18 or 48x24x18, can't wait.

Do you know if those dimension rimless need euro-bracing? Still undecided on if I want starphire, hmmmmm.

My tank is a rimless 4'x2'x16" with 1/2" glass. No Eurobracing on the top. Glass cages did do some extra bracing around the inside on the bottom though.

Thanks for the input, that's pretty much the exact dimensions I'm prob getting, Is it tough to find a stand made for these rimless tanks? Do they need special custom stands? I had toyed with a smaller dimension like 48x18x18 but don't know if it'd be hard to find a stand, hmmmm.

This is my 24x22x12 pedestal Shallow with independent Cantilever Canopy. I'm currently testing convectional circulation for more distinct wave immitation. The system was completed in the past three wks and still cycling.
