I finally found your thread! :) Sounds like it's going to be an awesome tank. You're gonna give Anthony a run for his money. I think you should do a 3 skimmer setup...Anthony will be jealous! :D

LOL! You guys might make Anthony jealous. He'll buy a Prizm skimmer and hang it just to say he has 3 skimmers!

He is not at work, and he's not napping. He's depressed because his 3rd skimmer is a Prizm and Steve's is a bigboy skimmer

Steve is tank less but he has 3 skimmer in his garage 1BK,1H&S and 1 Elos all collecting dust and skimming air hahaha

Yeah, they all collecting dirt at this point... But they will kick some serious butt once i have it hook up..

I think it will cost about the same amount to run a tank in the garage as it does the house.
No chiller maybe but you need a gas fired heater to keep the garage warm. in the summer you'll need to push the hot air out of the garage.
It might be a wash I'm guessing.
Good thing is you'll have plenty of storage room out there, it will be easy to move it in.
Are you thinking of building a wall in there so it looks like an inwall?
If you did sort of a small tank room within the garage you can most likely get away with a small electric heater in the mech room instead of heating the whole garage I bet.

Chris, i plan to build a little fish room with the tank being in wall. I will use the gas operated heater to keep the garage warm. I also have the portable AC unit with 9000 btu for the summer. I still get the chiller just in case.

you better invest in a good controller to monitor the temp over there. Don't want to wake up with a full tank of frozen sushi.

As for the controller, i will do either ACIII Pro or Biotopus II. With the help of Chris and other CO folks i am in a good hand. I will take Chris' advice and get the gas operated heater to keep my Garage warm in the winter and some commercial fans with temp controller for the summer...

noooooooooo

go with the biomatrix it has 2 temp sensor so it will help you to control better

hmmm no wonder your hobby experience is not much. The biomatrix have an outside temp sensor so when your room temp get too hot or too cold it will turn your room heater/ac on or off.
