Steve's 480g upgrade

For someone who already have an acrylic tank up and running and decided to do ext wavebox. They can use it to add on and run their wavebox external instead of internal. Joe has 700g mature SPS tank but he want to go external on the wavebox so he asked me to come up with something for him.

I advice him to drain the tank down to 12" below the surface, drill the hold on the back of his tank, use the bulkhead to plug the holes while waiting for the weldon to cure. Once he has all the holes drill on the back of the tank and plugged it with the bulkhead, he can fill the water back up then glue the ext wavebox on to the back, wait for 48hrs for the weldon to cure, remove the bulkhead then he can start to use the external wavebox just like the way i have in my tank.

ehhh, did i confuse anyone?

The stand will be skinned by the local cabinet. I am going to use the African Mahogany and Marine plywood on the top and bottom piece. I will have 4 doors (two on each side of the stand). I was going to have a db door on 1 end but the is no reason for it...

Aaah, Good idea.

African Mahogany is a beautiful color. You're going to have a fun time lugging all this equipment up from Ca.

No sir, i will be driving my car and the wife car to Colorado. The government are not responsible to ship my POV unless they send my family to Hawaii, Japan, Guam or Alaska..

Stand looks sweet, Steve.

How will the Tunze holder be secured to your tank? Could they have used black for the "box" around the Stream itself?

Terry, i could have use the black but i think clear is better. The rod will be secured into the top brace via 3/4" Tee and couple screws. I'll be able to adjust the pump higher or lower as well.. I should be able to have some pic in the next couple weeks. Work kinda hectic lately

Nice work Steve. That stand looks like it could hold two of your tanks.

Andy, i think i over build the stand a bit. But rather it too strong then not strong enough :D

Good luck on the move Steve.... I'm sure you must be super excited to get your tank up and running :)

Thank you Ed.... I was nervous about the move and setting up the new tank but with the baby coming and all the hassle with purchasing the house, The tank is my last concern....

Thanks Sean...

Tony, if you every need a solid stand like mine :D just let me know and i will hook you up with the guy. You may have to drive couple hundred miles to pick it up but IMO it worthies....

My stand look so darn sexy , i may not want to skin it after all. Since it will be in the basement or garage, why not save the money toward corals or fish instead

Steve, the stand is awesome, I could park my F450 on it :)
The holder is very cool as well, that gives me some ideas, how will you secure the pump to it? does it just fit really tight?
Chris
