I seem to recall OrionN saying he keeps his anemones at a higher temperature. Maybe he can weigh in? My tanks stay at around 80 during the cooler months, but 82 to 83 during the warmer ones. Mag hasn't complained and just keeps growing ..... and growing ..... and growing .....
I don't think it's overly critical as long as it is relatively stable. They have a huge range so different variants may vary in their preferences. That being said, a healthy mag is pretty adaptable.
My tank do better at at least 80 degree. Things grow faster. Within reason (below 84 degree) the temp will not cause problem but the daily fluxuation in temp can stress some animals (Xenia is really sensitive to quick raise in temp)
