Took a few new pics

Thanks again for the compliments after all these years. The tank has changed quite a bit over the last few years. I have changed lighting quite a few times as well still chasing that perfect balance. I will try to get some new pics for you shortly.

Here are some I took last month. I'll get a FTS maybe later this week.

Hi Greg, what is that coral in the second to last picture? Blue with slightly yellow tips I'm looking for something to replace my Oregon tort, something like that would be perfect.

For those still interested, My colors are finally back. Just in time to get new bulbs and mess it all up again. :lmao:

Beautiful reef, your video is mouth watering material......... look forward to more updates, have you chosen a bulb yet.

Here is a cool top down shot and a video that I would like to share.

Amazing corals and colour Greg, very well done. Can you please tell me the name of the green and purple coral on the right hand side of you pic, I have never seen anything as stunning as that. I can only hope that corals like that will reach South Africa some day

It was sold to me from former RCTOM winner snipersps. It is his purple polyed nasuta. It is really insane when the LED's are on as the body literaly glows! Problem is I cannot capture the color with a camera at all.

Holy acro colour batman! Nice. Did you do anything in particular to bring about good coral colour or did you just let things recover over time?

Mainly patience and intense light. Also lots of feeding. My thoughts are that more feeding of the corals help them rely less on photosynthesis thus expelling more zooxanthellae. It may not be how it works, but it sounded good when I thought it up. :)

Food:
Reef Nutrition's: Mysis Feast, Roti Feast, Oyster Feast, Beta Brine
AP Breed dry pellets in Eheim auto feeder

Dosing:
Warner Marine Ultimate Aminos
Warner Marine Vitamin/HUFA
KZ Zeovit Pohls Xtra
KZ Zeovit Coral Vitalizer
KZ Zeovit Coral Booster

Your thoughts are along the right line:

I recently found these two articles and they do generally explain the effect of feeding all those foods:

Here are the articles:

http://www.coralscience.org/main/articles/nutrition-6/how-corals-feed

The site has some cool videos too. Have a wonder around the site. :D

You've officially lost your "amatuer" status

Im trying your theory to and it seems to work for me. Finally I can buy corals and they keep their colour and continue to grow well. About that nasuta, I would understand that its very rare then and only a hand full of people will have it?
