Also curious how long everyone is running their lights. What time do you start day and night. Not sure if I bleached some because intensity was too high or lights were on too long.

I have 99% SPS dominated tank few Acans and Zoa's 15" above the water line.
9am till 10:30pm.
I'm big fan of less you mess with stuff better you do.

Here is my graph

Good thread, I have a standard 90 gallon which I just re set up. Before I broke it down because I moved had a mixed reef and had my lights at 100% and my SPS colors were fading and not much PE.

While I was selling off my corals I lowered my lights ( Gen 1) to 65% and my PE got much better as well as the color of the remaining SPS!

I know have the generation 1 with TIR lenses and dialed them way down to 25%! The little bit of starter SPS that I have are still maintaining their color and PE. I still need to wait and see about growth.

I am no expert, but in my experience these lights pack some serious power, more than enough for what we need except for extreme cases. Crank them down!

i have 2 1st gen with TIR on a 48x24x24 tank that is 12 inches above the waterline, i keep mostly sps and i noticed that my corals were bleaching at 100% i then lowered it to 80% with only a slight improvement so tonight i will try 70% and will provide update in 30 days.

I have three Gen 2's about 10" over a 150g 5x2x2. They come on at 6am and go off at 5pm with 65 max intensity for 4 hours in the middle of the day (45 minute blue ramps at either end). Tank is new and all sps corals, anemone and clam seem to be doing very well. Great polyp extension and all of the corals have either gotten better color or kept what they had. One birdsnest went a little towards brown (from red) for a couple weeks but now it's at least as colorful as when I got it. Oh yeah- an elegance coral too, which is on the sand and seems very happy.

I have a 75 g cube that is 30" deep and have my gen2 on slightly modified radiant setting at 100%. My coral growth and color are good but not great. If I decrease my intensity any my whole tank doesn't look bright enough. Do y'all think I'm frying my corals still?? I'm not sure but I'm surprised at the low intensities.

I have a 30 x 30 x 31 deep 120 gallon tank and thought the same way. After lowering it to 70% I am getting much better results but will it work for you I have no idea as al tanks are different. What do you have to loose if you lower it for 20 days ? Try it and if things get better great if not raise it. I am also blown away by the poll right now.

I agree I had mine 100% also .90 gal 48x24x24. Running for about a year. gen 2
2 units about 8 inches off the water. Sps , up high chalices low zoas med to low in tank.
Notice sps look good growth good ... Some chalice don't love . Going to lower also and see what happens after reading this.

I have Gen 1s and I keep mine at 75%, 20K. The lights sit about 9" from the top of the water and my SPS are about 7"-8" from the top of the tank. Most of SPS sit right under the light.

i went from 8 400 watt MH and T5 VHO supplemental actinics to 8 radion pros and my thoughts were 100% cranked! softies, clams, zoes did fine and even a 2 chalices did great but anything else i put in either bleached or browns. after reading this post im dialing down to 75% and see what happens with my corals and with any new corals that are introduced. the radions pack a hell of a punch and they will burn like a laser beam if you keep them too low. my depth is 36 inches and still i think now after reading this it needs to be ramped down and raised to 18 inches. my real issue is that i like a bright tank but i guess its all getting used too. I tried to have VHO T5's with radions just to brighten the tank but the ballasts interfere with the electronics of the radions. T5's and radions for me would be the perfect mix. ill keep you all posted as the tank turns. hmm sounds like a soap opera.

Mixed reef here. 75 gallon SPS, LPS, and Softies, with 2 Radion gen2s at 70%. I started at 50% and every week popped it up 5% until I hit 90%. I let it sit at 90% for a week and noticed some lightening of color and some corals closing up etc, also started growing some funky macro algae. Dropped it to 80% and noticed the corals looking a little better, so I dropped it to 70% and have been happy with the results. I run a 9 hour custom schedule, with short, 30 minute dawn and dusk phases.

75gallon, 2 Gen 2's, 8" off the water...running a slightly modified 20k, 100% on the blues, roughly 10% or less on the white, green, and red. Lights ramp up to this setting and stay there for 6 hours, then ramp back down.

Color and growth is good I guess, I have never run anything but a Radion...I have a Red Planet which is a new addition about 4-5" off the bottom and has faded in coloration.
