Upgrading Streams to a 425g ?

Roger,

I would first like to thank you for your advice over a yr ago re: my two 6000 streams w/ the multi-controller...they have worked flawlessly. I am now installing an inwall 425g tank (80x42x30). I realize that my two 6000s will not be sufficient for a tank this size. In addition to my returns, what tunze streams or wavebox would you recommend? Tank will be predominately sps. Thanks..

Curt

I would probably just upgrade the transformers so your pumps become 6100's I would place these on one end in the corners aimed lengthwise and I would center a 6200 on the other side. If you wanted to add the wavebox to this, two would be required- one main unit and one extension. The wavebox needs an extremely secure mounting so it has to be possible to bracket it to a vertical pane of glass. Likely your glass is too thick for the magnet holders.

Roger,

Thanks for the quick response. Tank will be 3/4" thick. Are the transformers the hockey puck shape objects of the stream cords and where can I purchase them? Thanks.

Curt

Roger,

Figured out the transformers are the rectangular boxes with the mounting hardware. Do you know where I can purchase a 6100 model?\\

Curt

No, they are the hockey puck things. The magnet holders will work for 3/4" glass. The transformer model is 7410.602 but you will have a bit of a wait. I had a sudden surge in interest in this part and everyone I am getting next week is sold.

I would place an order with one of our dealers or if you want to order direct you need to check back as I will forget.

I'll order w/ one of your dealers...thanks.

One more quick question if you don't mind. What would one wavebox due in a 400g tank...would it produce less flow and wave action or would it not work at all due to the excessive water volume?

I am unsure about what it would do. The only way to know would be to try it because shape and rock structure would make or break how well it would work.
