Wazzel's mostly SPS 60 Cube

I tried shrimp with no luck. Since I treated for red bugs I have not been able to keep any shrimp. No shrimp make it more than a day or so. It totally baffles me too, I ran carbon for a month after I was done and do 10 gallon water changes every week. I have not tried in a while so may do that too. I really miss having shrimp in my tank.

Hey Wazzel. I would like your opinion with these hydras. Below is a snapshot of my setting. I copied them from you :)

However I noticed the the PE maxes out just before the whites come one. Midway to end of the white schedule the pe on my birds nest is zero. Is that an issue? Too much?

What size tank? That is a good bit different than my schedule.

Wazzel,

Thank you for your contributions. I put together your setup on the director and it looks like this for me:

I like to have my tank on later in the day, so offset your setup by 2 hours.

Hoping to get some high end SPS growth from this. Set my acclimation for about 5 months to ramp to this level. Thanks again.

Sounds like a good plan. Hope it works well for you.

Please excuse the condition of the orange cap. I am in process of removing it. It has gotten way to big and will not be included in the transfer.

Thanks. I am now in the final stages of my 120 build. My light rack material shipped today. My colonies are being downsized for the move. I want to give my recent acquisition a shot at catching up and I figured I was going to break things anyway. My target is softball sized.

Mark, looks awesome to me, good luck as you transition. You could use this as an opportunity to also dip to ensure you start off worry/pest free. Keep taking pics along the way, I have been chomping at the bit to see the tank get wet!

The progression shots are amazing, you have so much patience to set the corals and then leave them:) I tinker with placement too much to be able to do that. I'm very excited to see the new tank come on line!!!

I probably will. Aiptasia is a problem for me right now. They are all over my clam. Every few days I hit them with a manjo wand. It works, but is labor intensive and you need to stay on it to not loose what you gained. Unfortunately they are popping up around the rest of my tank and in my frag tank to.

Thanks, I really strive for minimal intervention. I am excited too. I only have to purchase glass for the sump baffles and plumbing to get the tank wet. This tank is going to get a screen so I need to get that. Going to make it myself out of polycarb instead of the screen kit. Going to cost a bit more, but will look better.

My aiptasia has reached plague proportions. Have stung the crap out of my GARF bonsai. So bad intact I took a frag of it this morning just incase it goes down hill. The corals near my clam where they are the worst are fairly tore up also. Yesterday I picked up a few peppermints for the main and frag tanks. I just can not keep up with the manjo wand.

I really need to finish the 120 so I can break down the 60 and deal with this crap.
