Why do people ask the same questions, over and over again?

I don't want this to come off as a flame, but seriously people - use search and read the FAQ. THEN ask a question if you have it. I am not exaggerating when I say that over half (if not more) of the posts in this forum have already been beaten to death.

In fact, there have been so many posts about reading the FAQ and using search that THAT subject has been beaten to death, too

I almost feel like we need a special forum titled "Anemone and Clownfish Questions That Have Not Been Asked Before"

I guess there is a balance that has to be struck. Since almost of the all ground has been covered, we wouldn't need any new threads if we carried your suggestion to the extreme. Basically, I just skip over the "How many clown fish pairs can I keep in a 29g tank" questions and don't let it bother me.

evidently the moderators don't want newbies or lurkers just using the search function as they recently took the priviledge of buy & sell forum and trade forum away from us until you have 50 "relevant" posts.so now even though I know I can find the answer in search I just use the forum and ask questions that have been asked and answered thousands of times.mtbiker41

Me too, last week I saw like 3 in a row on front page.
I ignore some after a while cause I feel like a parrot, but then you'll see someone new saying, "yeah, sounds cool, go for it dude"
I'd feel bad if I didn't say something.

I've even had people telling me to hit search for some of my questions which usually aren't run of mill typical, or search isn't working, but when you see the same question several times on front page...
I try not to be a search it nazi, but sometimes all you gotta do is read the front page to see that question answered many times.
It seems like lately there have been less exp nem/clown folks on here, and alot of noobies not giving the best advice.
And alot of new folks have been a bit argumentative on the more than one pair/mixing thing, it gets kinda old.

While the answers to some questions never change, many do. In a difficult field like keeping anemones, I am glad to see fresh answers to the old questions. Every now and then someone claims BS - and they are right. If Sanjay took the advice never to mix different species of clowns, I wouldn't have my beautiful Black Photons.

Not to mention when someone is researching is always more comforting to come across 1000 posts that give the same solution than 1. Confidence in numbers. Not to mention, if I didn't try and answer the same questions over and over again for people I wouldn't be able to spend half the time I do on here

Yea, too bad that you have to contribute to a forum that is about sharing information. And the "privilege" wasn't just taken away, it is just the new software allows it to be enforced better. But, you are right, it is a privilege given to members that contribute to RC.

As a reefer (6 years) who has been active in my local club and just getting involved at RC, I find the 50 posts idea a bit of a pain in the azz! (note the number of posts I have made and how long I've been around RC... it's not very NEW user friendly). Just my opinion.

Question has been asked many times in many different ways, but still many rong answers.

It is true that much of the repetition is born of laziness, but I for one don't mind. Sometimes interesting new points are made.
