Yes!!!!!!!!! SPS Success with Leds! Come in and Share your Story!

Hi, your sps are looking great. :)

I'm just curious which LEDs you have and how many?
I ask because I would think that unless you had a "butt load" of LED?

I have 10 - 120 watt LED Panels. that I run the majority of the time. I use MH to supplement the LEDs for the White Light which runs 4 250 watt radiums for 5 hours.

My point was that with the set of photos you've posted one could say that this is an example of what can be achieved with an LED fixture, where else technically this is not a pure LED, but LED supplemented with MH. Feel free to post whatever you like in this thread.

I would really love to see the photos of your tank before you've added the MH to the mix to see the colours of your corals with LEDs only.
Look through the thread and you will see those pictures.

Correct if you go to google and type tdb320reef and select images. Any pictures or threads before December 2013 are LED only.

Thanks.

I did that and my hat's off to you sir. Very nicely done, even though the corals and the look has certainly transformed after you've put MH on (as you seem to be saying the same thing in your thread) you did have great corals to begin with and they were grown under blue leds.

What was the ratio of blue/white in your leds prior to MH and what was the photo period like? Thanks.

Correct - Most have been grown from 1" frags under leds. However I had 2 to 3 crashes since the tank has been up and I started buying larger colonies.

I run Blues 75% for 12 hours whites 10% blues for 12 hours and whites for 5 hours.

I'm trying to understand these and so far I'm failing. Can you please re-phrase?
As I understand you have a fixture with blue/white LED (is ratio 50/50?)

for 12 hours you run blues at 75% and no white
for 12 hours.. 5 hours.. I'm confused :)

Yeah that was a typo. I meant to say:

I run Blues 75% for 12 hours whites 10% for 5 hours.

when is the tank dark? When blue, when white, when both white and blue?
Is there anyother light? How many light fixtures? How many watts?....

I think what tdb320reef wrote is very confusing. Please elaborate.

read back through what he wrote.... i'll sumarize: 10 120w led fixtures ran at 75% on blues and 10% on whites. Blue on for 12 hours and white for 5. Then 4 additional radiums ran for 5 hours. I would assume like most he has the blues come on before the additional whites and then the whites turn off before the blues... I also bet his halides are on at the same time as his whites. lets not make this more complicated than it is.

Exactly.

Extremely impressive, can we get a copy of your Radion schedule?
My 9 radions. The two G1 Radion are on my Frag tank. The three G2 and four G3Pro are on my DT. No MH or VHO/PC suplement for me. I don't think one can call LED White and Blue as full spectrum.

Thank you! Can you turn on individual colours on that graph please?

I don't adjust the color individually. All from 0-100% in 1 hr and decrease from 100% back to 0%. I do have moonlight on.

Off topic but why is this thread still going but the one titled " dumping less going back to mh" get closed? Shouldn't this be closed too?

So many people are going back to MH's from leds I would just assume a discussion could be had from it.

Sorry to hi jack the thread....

LED's for the win

This is about the success of LEDs. That's a positive topic. The other is a negative topic about a fully functional item which many are sponsored by reef central.
