Tank is looking great Typhon.

Everything is doing fine except for the pocci frag. I lost him. He was on a steady decline from day 1 but he held out until a few days ago.

The rocks have cleared up pretty good since your last visit...but I have yet to do any work on the cabinet. Oh well, at least she's up and running.

Typhon,
Can you take a picture of the magnets and the hinges that you used on attaching your skirt to the stand. I built a steel stand as well and I need to finish the skirt.

Thanks,
Chris

Here is a pic of my chiller siting under the frag tank. You can also see how I am venting the hot air from the chiller to the outside.

Typhon,

Very nice. I saw you were selling your chiller but I was wondering how you did this. Do you have any other pictures of this mod, where did you get it and did you add a fan?

How do you have your new chiller setup? Thanks.

Hey Paul..
Sorry I don't have any other pics and I just replaced it with another 1/3 hp chiller (reason why I am selling this one). All I really did was bolt a sheet of acrylic to the back of the chiller with a 4" (110 CFM) Fan attach to it. This setup did a great job at keep my tank temp down and not heating up of 10'x10' tank room.

Tell you the true I really like the JBJ line of chillers. I replace my 1/4hp JBJ with a 1/3 HP teco. The Teco does a great job at cooling my tank too, but it is alittle noiser. The JBJ was very quiet. I should of gotten the 1/3 hp JBJ instead.

Are you interested in the 1/4 hp JBJ chiller? :D

Since some one brought this thread back to life I should post some updates.

Here is a pic of the tank in Jan 06

Love the angled pic. Tank looks awesome!

Can you please explain how your closed loop is plumbed? I see an OM 4 way but can't see the returns and I don't see enough bulkheads in the back of the tank for a 4 way.

BTW, Great looking tank!

Mike

Mike.. Well alittle while back I scratch the idea of using the S.Squirt with the Sequence 4300. Before that the Sequence was fed by the 2" bulkhead on the upper left hand side. Then the input would feed the two bulkheads on the lower half of the tank and the 4 way S.Squirt on top. The S.Squirt would just put water back into the tank over the top. So no need for bulkheads for the S.Squirt output. Hope that makes sense?

Sure does! So the closed loop pump just pumps back to the two bulkheads in the back of the aquarium?

Mike

Well I guess I should start posting some updates. Where do I start. I have posted anything for quite some time. Well here we go.

First off I added an exhaust fan attached to a humdistat to help out with the moisture issue I was having. Here is the vent that draws the air.

Here is the fan on the other side. In the pic the fan is pulling into my garage but I have completed it since then. Now it is pulling the air to the outside.

Yep.. that is all the CL does now.

In the past few months I have also upgraded my AC II to an AC III. IMO, a great controller. Never had an issue with it.
ACIII-1.jpg

It is linked to a wireless network adapter.

Also on the way I pickup a few new toys.. :D

Here is a pH probe holder and phosphate remover.

I have also upgraded my chiller in the mean time. In the begin I didn't like the noise from the Teco chiller, but I had the unit replace by Teco. Not because of the noise ,but because of damage during shipping. Didn't notice it until a few almost week later. But the new unit is very quiet. IMO, quieter than the JBJs. I guess the fans where also damaged on the other unit. The unit is doing a great job and I am very impressed with it. Here is a pic of the chiller in action.

Dude awsome tank, sorry if i missed it but what are the dementions of the tank, and was it made by Glass Cages? Any problems with the tank?
