well, you can buy bigger filter socks and tie them a bit lower in your sump, so that if it spills over, it spills into the sump.

Cleaning socks daily would suck, unless you can drop em into the hotel's laundry machine :D

Hi Ed,
Congrats for your awesome plumbing system! That is a clean good planed job! I like it well!
A council:
May be according to me mikro bubbles. I would load up plus a bottle of bite. The pump's sucking slot I would put an 90° or 45° -os pipe. When the pump suckink from down, I think it has smaller its chance that In this manner Skimmer the bubble can depart from water coming back.
Here a drawing I believe it:

Sorry Ed, I study yet in English and I not better to compose for you.

Thanks Peter1 - will add a slot so that the skimmer return further down (below water llevel) and if still don't work, will have to return it to a filter socks... :(

where do you work again? :p

U will know as the bedsheets and towels are brown.... :D

thats alot of elbows you have there on the return are you concerned at all of the back pressure it might add to the skimmer ?

Great job on the plumbing and the whole tank setup so far. I get excited when I look at my email and I see an update to your post (a little sad isn't it?).

Should be fine as the skimmer return is only a very short distant to the sump.... ;)

i also just finish my 300g systm last 3 moths, with zeovit.
how much zeovit are you going to use in your sys???

Hi Pak Johan - been following on your build thread - fantastic work on the aquascape...

Accordingly to Zeovit forum, 1 will be using 2.5L of Zeovit for my tank...

I used to work in Indonesia for 4 years...great country and people... :)

your plumbing is AWSOME Ed! I love the clean look! I would put some elbow in your return intake as well on the maintenance exit in the sump :)

SPEEDGLUE REVIEW

SPEEDGLUE REVIEW

18 April, 2008 (Friday)

Finally got some time to do the review for speedglue.

As promise last week, for those who are interested….

Speedglue Powder â€"œ picture taken without flash:

I follow the instruction and place one-heaped tablespoon of powder and mix with 5 ml of RO water…

5ml RO water:

After mixing for about 1-2 min, this is what you get….

The texture is quite rough, like a cement mix â€"œ not like a smooth paste of an epoxy. It act more like a quick drying cement and quite easy to apply should you wish to bond rocks or frags to SPS plugs out of water.

I would recommend to first place the powder into a container and then to slowly place the water and keep mixing until you get a thick paste. If it’s still too soft, then add more powder…before using, best to have ready a disposable plastic cup and a wooden or plastic stick to mix it…. I used a wooden Popsicle stick, which works great….but I think you can buy those sticks from somewhere or alternatively start eating lot’s of ice cream on sticks. Another disadvantage it will be a waste if you only want to glue 1 piece of frag unless you have master to mix it with less powder and water :p

I tried using it to bond 2 pieces of dry rocks together to see how fast it dries… Took about 3-4 hours to dry and once dried, it’s like cement. Good thing is the color is dark grey (like a raw cement color) and not so noticeable on reef rocks :artist:

Next I try bonding one of my SPS frag and place it in my tank.â€"œ took about a good 5 - 6 hours to bond underwater…

Personally, IMHO, would recommended this for those who wish to build their aquascape and also to bond frags onto frag base out of water. For gluing frags underwater, I will still stick to my D&D epoxy….. so I guess I have to stock up on these 2 items…. :lol2:

Upcoming next…
