Hey thanks. Any idea on the diatom bloom that I'm "supposed" to get?
Rocks went in March 22nd. Cycle complete w/0 ammonia, nitrite and 5-10ppm nitrAte by March 31st. I've added 3 snails for something to look at and I haven't seen ANY algae at all. This is going on day 11 after cycle complete. How long's it take to see it?

You may not get a bloom since you used fully cured LR. I noticed you mentioned earler that you may add a jawfish. In your tank, that won't work. They need a 3-5" sandbed of mixed sand/rubble to build their burrow.
I have a yasha goby/tiger pistol pair in my 30 cube. Prepare to have your sandbed rearranged on a continuous basis. My tiger pistol is a bulldozing machine. It's neat to watch him work.

Thanks. for answering. I'm actually changing my stocklist. I won't have a bluespot b/c I don't feel it's not a good combination w/my burrowing shrimp and the fact the tank is 4" off the floor and I have 3 kids, 2 dogs and 1 cat. Too much action for such a shy creature.

If you are thinking about putting a frogspawn on the right side of the tank, than put it mid way up the rock wall that is there now, dont put rocks any closer to the glass as frogspawns grow and expand faster than you think. I have one in my 29 and originaly put it right where your drawing said you wanted it, and within 6 months i was fragging it and moving it. It now dominated the entire left hand side of my tank, top to bottom. Looks really cool and my clown loves to chill in it.

Thanks for the tip user name in use.
My fish came in today. I floated the bag for 20 min for temp adjustment and them put them in the specimen container. I dripped them for a tad over an hour. Each fish was bagged separately. I was surprised at that. Probably a good idea, but I was surprised.
I added them to the tank about 5:30 or 6pm. I've since seen the shrimp. He's already excavating. I caught a glimpse of one goby and that's it so far. I'm assuming they'll lay low and hide for a bit. Hope they find the shrimp, though
Concerned about that part. I even netted all 3 at the same time and release all 3 together on the right side of my fish tank. The shrimp is in a rock cranny on the left side.

Since the 15th I've only seen 1 goby. Haven't seen the shrimp since the original excavation project. The 1 goby is hiding in a cranny in the back side of the tank. I suppose it's possible for the shrimp to have found him/her. It would be hard for me to see it.
A note of success!! I thawed some brine shrimp and added it today. One goby darted a tad out of it's hidey spot and ate a few bites. Hunger is good. Now if I could just see the shrimp and a 2nd goby, I'd be happy. Maybe the gobies are switching watching posts and both are there in the hole and I don't know about it....sneaky. Would they do that?

Yea, it'll sleep in the sand at night and when it's frightened. It'll keep the shrimp busy.
I'll be setting up either the 75g or 120g soon. I have both tanks on hand right now. I think it'd be easier to do the 75 since thats the tank on top of the 29g stand. I don't know. Maybe I'll wait to get the wrasse until the other tank is set up.
What else should I add that's colorful and active? I know for sure I'll be adding a pair of clowns.

I've seen the shrimp twice since adding him to the tank. I haven't heard any noticeable noise at all. I would see him more if I sat and watched the tank more. The last time I saw him he was moving sand out of the burrow.
In fact, I've been joking that my gobies have divorced. :lol: They are sleeping on opposite sides of the tank. I was watching the goby that's now living on the left side of the tank and here comes the shrimp pushing some sand out of the hole Holey Cow...he IS still alive 
I figured he was probably in there somewhere, but it's nice to have a visual confirmation now :rollface: So it seems the one goby has found the shrimp, but the other is REALLY skittish and that's probably why he hasn't yet. He comes out to grab a few bites to eat and that's about it. They've been eating brine shrimp and some frozen Marine Cuisine. I'll try feeding small formula 1 pellets tonight. I'll let you all know how that goes
The Christmas wrasse will leave corals alone, but can pick on inverts. I've already read up on him. I was pondering him b/c I can move him to the big tank later. I know a guy who has a couple Christmas wrasses in his tank w/corals/inverts and the hole deal. He hasn't seen any ill effects on the coral and if I remember right he couldn't say for sure on the inverts b/c there's a lot of possibility of who could be eating them (I think).

Thanks for the heads up on those ..BUt Iv heard the pistols may a clicking noise that can be heard outside of the tank pretty good thats why I ask And my tank Is in my room So I dont know Although I am trying to figure out my next fish My firefish jumoed I put it back in he was Okay then He disapeared And 1 week later mt scooter blenny Ive had for 7 months Just passed And they were my only fish so now I trying to figure out whats next......I do like the yashas though
