a simple sps tank

Thanks bud:beer:

Really happy you like it!

Can't wait for the corals to grow and make it more dramatic.

The dude is crazy:p

Today as i put my hand in the tank, for one more(can't even remember how many times i've said that :p ) "last" coral location swapping,he bite my hand.

At least that was what i thought but in the next "encounters" i saw that this guy was just nipping my arm hair's:uhoh3:

That's one messed up emp:p

They are crazy! Mine does the same, like its algae. I'm a hairy bastard though and he goes to town.
I've tried looking back, are you using any carbon dosing or other such means of additional filtration?

Your tank is beautiful as usual, I wish my tank were tall enough to scape more vertically, ah well, maybe next upgrade. :)

and I totally lol'd about both of your emp's eating your arm hair.

Mike,
Looking great man, and I agree the Achilles is amazing :)
Hope all is well in your transition to AF, keep us posted my friend!
Cheers,

Those two fish must love having that tank all to themselves.
Looking great Mike!
Do they ever knock stuff down or break branches?
Lately, my Achilles (of around 8 months) has been getting skittish and seems agitated. He'll often sit in a corner, then zoom down and across the tank and then back into a corner. At other times, he grazes like normal but in the mornings, lately, I keep finding corals that haven't encrusted yet knocked to the ground.. I assume it's him doing some crazy swimming at night .. Not sure what's wrong with him..

Beautiful looking Achilles
Thank you very much my friend, have a really soft spot in my heart for this fish:o

lol lol
Glad to see mine is not the only crazy emp, benar:beer:
That incident gave me some good laughs:p
Think we should start a waxing business:p..."wanna look slick?we've got the right emperor for you" lol

I'm using AF's Pro Bio S and NP Pro .
Af carbon(only recently) and tunze antiphos.
Have 4-5 litres of siporax too but only as an extra space/surface for bacteria to grow, because of my minimal rock.

Thanks josh,really appreciate that:beer:
Would be happy to see you update to a tank with the exact dimensions you like!

Laughed myself too with benar's emp "grooming habbit":-)

Thanks my dear friend:beer:
I consider myself really lucky because i love this fish so much and i have the opportunity to have it in my tank:inlove:

The transition is nice.
The differences i see until today are still minor but colors change in a steady paste.
Some corals have "pasteled" a bit since i increased micro E dosage.
I went from 4 drops to 6.
Maybe had something to do with copper, manganese or some other elements that bottle consists.
Think i'll drop it down again to 3-4 drops and see what will happen.

Cheers perry

Thanks matt buddy:beer:
Appreciate your kind words man!

They seem to enjoy all that space and the crazy amount of food i throw in there lol

No,until now they are model citizens.Nothing broken or destroyed.
But they are relatively small and the corals too.We will see when they grow bigger what they'll do!

Funny what you said about your achilles:sad2:
Mine for the last two months,is doing the exact same thing.
He is showing this behaviour the days that his skin changes and the tear gets bigger.Last achilles did the same and when his orange tear was 100% shaped, cooled down.
Maybe it's a sign of maturity, sex forming or something?
He doesn't get "blue eyed" which shows he is reaaaaally angry, just a bit white in his sternum.
And after he makes those 2-3 "flights" he grazes the rocks like nothing happened.

Love your achilles too:inlove:

Thanks for the feedback, Mike. This is my first Achilles.. In my 25 ish years of keeping saltwater..
Yeah.. Half the time acting normal and grazing, the other half, hiding and zooming..
Well, now I know not to be too worried about it.. :)

Hi guys,i was fooling around with my mobile and i got that pic.Played a bit with a photo editor and that's what i came up with.I love it when the orange tear starts getting bigger and washes away the black skin:inlove:
Ragnar:p
They both grow sooo fast!Emp's yellow color and lines are showing more and more each day.

I also took a camera pic....sad sad sad try...as usuall, plus some never ending coral relocating :fun5:

I'll go back some pages and see the pic adjusting advises i got from you guys.Photobucket has some nice options....oh,what a caveman i still am.Just discovered them:p
Go here and get some filters, man. Even a camera phone can take good pics with them and no more post edititing needed: http://www.ausreef.com.au/filters.html

Yeah buddy not worry much he'll cool off.
The only thing i find strange is that he is hiding.he does that after zooming?
Is any of the other fish giving him hard time?

Really glad for you buddy you have this fish:beer:

wow matt...25years?..respect!

I love this tank. One of my favorite to follow. I love the openness. Keep up the great work glaukos.
Thank you so much for your kind words bdial:beer:
It means a lot and i really appreciate it my friend.

Hey Mike, nobody bothers him.. He's an Achilles! :)
He just starts his 'zoom' from up behind a pump. Not really hiding..
Actually, it's been 45 years of fish keeping but only the latter half of that with reefs...
I like your new bulb combo. The corals will respond well with that combo.
Now, go get some gels!!
Please... :)

That's riiiiiiiiiiight bud:D
Talking about that i remembered the day i introduced a mandarin in the tank with the last achilles in there:uhoh2::uhoh2:
He was beating that little guy sooooo hard...he even put him in his mouth and waved him like dogs do to cats!:eek1:
He accidentally went into a small cave where achilles couldn't reach him and eventhoughi left him for dead he showed up after a couple of weeks.Such a surprise and such an aggressive dude:uhoh3:
So happy your's isn't not hiding, you got me a bit worried!

45 years??????:eek1: Welldone matt!

I like that combo too...at least for now,lol

I saw so much despair in your request for me getting some gels my friend, that i'm seriously considering getting some:lolspin::lolspin:

Mike, your tank is so damn good!
Some gels would show it off so well. :-)
Thanks bud, really appreciate your kind words:beer:
Still trying to figure out where to get them easily!

Did you get those filters yet? :lolspin:

Lol,looks like you know me mark lol

Had some time for clicks and snapped a couple...sorry in advance for the quality:p

I tried to do some editing magic in the first three but no magic there...tbh i think i made things worse:spin2::spin3:

Your tank is looking awesome as always! Love everything you've done with it.

I just bought some of those gel filters, thanks for the link Matt

Youre welcome:) The gels are awesome - i got one of those kits with the magnetic camera lenses for the iPhone, disassembled the smallest lens, and put a piece of filter inside. Now i just click it on to the iPhone and Im ready to go in seconds. I used to keep it taped over the camera lens full time but I'm pretty rough on my phone and kept scratching them up.
