Matt thanks for the link. The hard part is that i don't like to make online buys.Have a silly and unexplainable fear.Always fear that something will go wrong.Maybe i'll ask an LFS to bring them.
The few times i did,i used some friend's card.
Thanks stapleton, really glad you like it:beer:
Still a lot distance to cover but hope it'll get there.

Love it, Mike.
Do always run your MPs without screens or are you cleaning it?
Thanks matt bud, your kind words give me courage:beer:
No i always run them like this.
No flow reduction from all that coraline etc that builds up on the cover and the fear i had it would/could harm the fish, went away since even if they go near they get a very very small scratch, which after a couple of hours goes away! That has happened only a couple of times till this day.
Only a couple of snails in there and even when they reached the mp,they left quickly when the wheel hit them.
Your tank is looking awesome as always! Love everything you've done with it.

I just bought some of those gel filters, thanks for the link Matt
Thanks conor, appreciate your kind words my friend!
After all, having the emperor in there is half your responsibility since you having those angels in your tank, helped me bite the "angelfish bullet"

Thanks again guys!

Today i'll use AF's probiotic salt in a big WC about 60% of my total water volume.Every 6 months i make one huge WC and now is the time....i hate all that maintenance that comes with it...skimmer-sump-pump-pipes cleaning :uhoh3:

Spooky reef is doing ok andrew! Thanks for caring bud:beer:

I "created" some bacterial bloom when i made i large WC with AF's probiotic salt(reef salt before) and stirring a bit my sandbed:)
Corals ended a little stressed but it's ok now!

Pics are everything though and i'll try to take some when i get home!
Emperor(the dude) has grown and his colors are starting to show more and more each day:)

I think i will not use pro bio s and np pro anymore and stick to probiotic salt and weekly water changes.I can't see any problem with that...in theory!:)
Time will tell,i'm only at my second week with that routine.
I also abandoned micro E,think it's pointless with so frequent water changes.
Will be using only energy, vitality, build and amino.

Skimmer got crazy after i started probiotic salt and i think it gradually stripped my water off nutrients so i feed more.Dailed it down for the moment.

Changed ONCE AGAIN my bulb combo:jester:
Atm it's
B+
AB
B+
B+
AB
B+
B+
C+

Nice and bright. Some corals look a bit better with that combo but there's a looooot of room for imrovement:(

Added 5 strombus too,in order to sift/clean sand.Weird little things:fun4:

Thanks bud, really appreciate your kind words:beer:
Still trying to figure out where to get them easily!

Lol,looks like you know me mark lol

Had some time for clicks and snapped a couple...sorry in advance for the quality:p

I tried to do some editing magic in the first three but no magic there...tbh i think i made things worse:spin2::spin3:

Hey Mike...the tank looks amazing.

I have not read your full thread yet. How old is the tank ?

Theven second fish is an Angel, correct ? Is not nipping your Acros ?
Daniel

Thanks dan, really glad you like it bud:beer:
Still needs a lot of time though to grow:(

Tank is running 7 years i think but only a couple after the big aquascape change and the coral chopping.
I might build a new tank this year, same shape just a little bigger.

Yeah the emp does nip at some corals. Not all of them though. He has chosen 4-5 which are his favorite:p and nips them.
He bites their tips too and that leads to some weird morphology but as long as they grow i don't really mind:)
What i've found is that he can really hurt them only if/when they are stressed.

Wow thinking about an upgrade! Tank looks great, would be interesting to see it on a larger scale!

Spooky Reef??? More like Groovy Reef, because that is exactly what it is, and just as a FYI, I think it looks pretty darn awesome! I think now that there is visual growth on corals, it really helps the scape to stand out, like knowing the end result before starting, great visualization :)

Mike the tank looks great. I always wanted an emperor angle, but fear they would tear up my corals.

If you have not gotten the filters, get them with out fear. Mine showed up last week and they do clear up things nicely. IIRC they are about $13 US. Not a whole lot of money to risk.

Thanks josh bud:beer:
I've been thinking of it for a long time now but i just want to space out this one first and then upgrade,if you know what i mean.
I'd love to see those too islands filled with huge corals and then upgrade,in order to give them more space.
Both fishes and corals have a long long way ahead to get really big:(

Thanks dear friend:beer:
Really appreciate it and it means a lot!

I finally got my SSC this week:dance:
I love this coral:inlove:
Did some more "branching" and two more "seats" appeared:p
Placed it in two different spots just for the sake of safety and observation!
Tonight i'll be getting my gyre too,so that's another thing i really want to test.
You guys, who use it,are you happy with it?
I'll get the small one.

You give me courage to go on!

Well the dude(emp) does nip.Not to a point to damage corals but he does stress them.
He stubbornly insist on nipping only 4-5 specific corals. All the other he leaves alone though.
Hope things will stay that way because i really like him and the changes in his colors,so i'd hate to take him out.
I think that if corals are healthy no matter how much he nips,it won't be enough to really damage them.
I'm talking about sps because as far as my lps goes....he almost destroyed every single one (of the very few) i had.

I like the filters option,it's just i'm silly enough not to make purchases online. If an lfs had them available i'd surely already had bought some of them.
Even the ssc i adore,i finally bought after so many years because just now i found a friend who uses his card for online buys all the time,so i took advantage of him:p

thanks again guys!!!

What a nice piece of equipment that gyre is:dance:
I don't want to be enthusiastic and all but until(if ever) that thing plays a trick on me,i'm sold on it!
I bought the 150,really powerful. At least for my small tank.Think it's running at 20-30% only atm on alternate mode
Of course it's too soon so i'll say more after a few days/weeks has passed:)

Remember when i told you about the bacterial bloom i got when i switched to probiotic AF salt?About 50%-60% WC,tripled my pro bio s dose to replace the bacteria and on top of that i stirred the sandbed too....soooo i wonder why i got it:-p
Thank god it cleared up in a couple of days with no losses too. Some of the corals lost their colors but they are slowly coming back.
Fed a bit more and vitality was used every day, instead every 2nd.

So like i mentioned to the previous post, finally last week i got my SSC:inlove:
I made two thrones for it and that led to some coral relocating since the thrones had to be in really cool spots.
So the tank looks like that now...needless to say sorry for the pics quality:p
Played a bit with editing options in photobucket but i don't think i did anything good/right,lol

SSC
magically cropped

Wow those emps can grunt guys!!!
At first i thought what i was hearing was coming from one of the pumps or some of the equipment but it was coming from the dude:uhoh3:
If this noise gets stronger as he grows i'll be able to hear him from the couch:-p

Tank looks fantastic Mike!! Your scape gets more awesome with each new picture update too! :inove:
Those new SSC's are sexy pieces ;) I've never heard an emp grunt though, would have been amusing to figure that one out haha
Glad to hear you're enjoying the gyre too, still keen to get one myself!

Thank you so much my dear dom:beer:
So glad you like it,really appreciate it!Today i did some more coral relocating...that SSC changed a lot of things:p
Purle stylo had become really big.Two stags were hiding it so it was a nice surprise when i moved it to the left and realised how much space it needed.
I've stopped telling my self that i will never put my hands in the tank again:cool:

I didn't know that either bud!!!
You should see my reaction when he came close to my hand and made those noises:uhoh3:
Only a pair of ugg's could make me feel like a real man again:p
And they were sooo loud.
Had a blue throat trigger in the past that did similar noises but not so loud.
Achilles is alway eating the dude's poop(:uhoh3:)...so when he see him do it goes fast to "collect" them and that's also one of the times emp grunts.
I guess he is saying to him "leave my s#@t alone achilles" :-p

The gyre is really nice indeed.I'd like more though,if it had a couple more modes.
I'm sure you will get one too bud.The moment something goes through your mind it's done...one way or another:-p

The bacteria bloom FTS is looking super spooky[emoji317]
:lmao::lmao:
I can tell you man, when i saw that in the morning i became more white than casper, lol
Thank god it lasted only a couple of days and i got my color back too:-p

+1 hahaha

Tanks looking great, I've always wanted a fish that made noises. Maybe in a future upgrade. :-)
Thanks josh, really glad you like it man:beer:

If you do get one,be prepared just in case he decides to do it for the first time when your hands are in the tank.
I pulled my hand so fast out of the tank and took a step back so "flash-y" that my wife thought i was shocked by the tank...needless to say i told her it did:cool:

Love it, Mike!
Yeah the cloudy shot looks like a spooky London night with Jack the Ripper lurking in the shadows.
Glad it went away without issues.
The sscs are super nice!

Thank you very much matt:beer:
Happy you like it bud!
Yeah, thank God nothing happened.Went away, leaving behind only 3-4 stressed corals, which by the way were the ones with "frozen growth" for some months now.

:lmao:You nailed the comment about the spooky photo, lol

Filters!

From what I can tell the corals look awesome (filters), glad everything cleared up (filters).

Seriously though, always nice to hear when things go well.

:lolspin::lolspin::lolspin:
Thanks bud,it's nice indeed when tank is running without problems.
Not only for me but for everyone:beer:

Love the look of this tank! Ever since you made the changes its been one of my favorite aquascaped reefs. The openness and overall layout is exactly the style I strive for. Not overly done and lots of space for corals to grow into nice big colonies. Great work!

I agree..............the space below looks great and the overall appearance has a nice clean look.
