A Smart? Aquarium in Taiwan...

In fact, I am not sure I have mentioned this before. My old Redsea KH test kit are expired long time ago, so my KH were actually 11.0 dKh :mad2:
I start lowering my KH since two weeks ago, now I gradually lower it to 9.6, still a long way to drop to 7.5 dHK, my desired KH value.:facepalm::facepalm:

wow... was this also with the old tank? they were growing well at 11? what are/were your calcium and mag levels?

Woww nice rimless tank. Whats the thickness of the glass?

Thanks. Glass thickness is 12mm.

I'm afraid so...:headwalls:but I hope they expired gradually.
I bought lots of RedSea KH test kit when I visited CA 3 years ago and use them till now.
Calcium and mag should be find since I bought most of them in LFS from time to time these years.

FTS for May 2015.

Many new coral colonies added recently which I will share in RC shortly.
There is no significant grow on old coral in last 30 days, I am not sure if this is caused by planned decreasing KH (original 11 dkH) these couple weeks or other unknown reason.

Tank Calcium and Alkalinity consume are less than before. My KH dosing volume drops from 40 ml/hour to 25 ml/hour now. KH is now steady at 8.3, will try to drop down to 7.5 in next 2 weeks.

Thanks for the update!

Marty

wow that's brave of you to change parameters. I assume the slower growth is due to this change. I'll be interested to know how long it takes for the calcium consumption rises again, back to the old rate (or higher, with new colonies).

Great tank, thanks for the picture update. Can't wait to see the colony pictures.

Even I try to as gradually as possible to lower my KH, the Calcium mistake I made still bit me badly. I lost most Coral PE's and a few coral show STN, but thank God they are recovering now.

Tank is looking nice!

Thanks, sahin.
I bet you also notice how ugly it is as still many places rocks expose instead of covered by coral. I am trying hard to cover them ....

Sorry for keep you waiting... I was waiting for my new toys before taking new shots....

Nice update, any reason for pushing for lower params?

I think I was just worry later if my KH too high, it is hard to diagnostic what go wrong with standard Zeovit system. Maybe it is not worth, but since tank only 3.5 months old when I found KH much higher than my plan, I decided to lower it now instead of doing nothing.
I maybe wrong, still....

Very impressive reef from start to finish. Your friend's prototype for KH auto test, monitoring, and correction system could help so many other hobbyists as well.

Oh, yeah...Thanks for the reminder. I almost forget I should update Dr. Bridge's KHG (KHG means KH machine, machine pronoun in Chinese like "G"... Hahaha, sometime I feel Dr. Bridge is so low) on another thread. Elton and I will get Dr. Bridge's POB units for test drive before end of May.

Right now just a reddish color with a bit of a greenish tint here and there, i'd attempt to get a photo but my iPhone hates any type of blue light and with whites only he just looks like a dull red. As for which one he will turn out to look like, I don't think I will know for at least a couple weeks. Frag was cut 3 days ago and then moved into my tank. On the bright side though the red planet acro i got as well at the same time is showing great color. It wasn't a fresh cut though.

Same here. I have problem taking great phone from iPhone 6P.
Give it a few weeks and I believe your frag will surprise you. I never understand how to tell between red planet and Acro hyacinthus. Any idea?
