Must be something to do with nipple orientation. What direction was the nipple oreinted to before/after changing it?

I know when my nipples are not aligned right I feel all funky

:D :D :D :D

I ordered 2 250w RF e-ballasts and 2 250w Reeflux 10k's so hopefully they'll look sharp.

For those that are still seeing a pinkish color with their SE bulbs, u might want to try this. Last night, I heard a high pitched hum emanating from the 250w SE 10k Rflx. I backed the bulb out about 1/4" and BAM, the color went from white/pink to bright white. My DE 10k (running on HQI) still shows more blue, but they're much more similar in color now.

what do you mean by "backing the bulb out" ?

Unscrewing it a little??

I have some seriously pink bulbs and I'm not liking it them too much

I'm running 250w SE 10k reeflux on icecaps.

I got 2 250Watt 10k Reeflux bulbs 2 weeks ago and I am running them on a standard PFO ballast. I love the color. Crisp white with just a hint of blue. Not sure why but my ballast seems to run all bulbs bright (compared to a friend who has the same ballast). They appear nearly as bright as my old XMs and add that hint of blue.

I am running them without any other lighting and they look great.

large polyp, that's exactly what i meant. unscrewing it a bit. keep in mind that several users have reported the pink color during burn in for the first 3+ weeks so it might not be as simple as reorienting the nip. fwiw, i'm running the 250w SE 10k on an EVC ballast.

Are the 10K pink looking on electronic ballast ? I know my 400w 10k were pink looking on a magnetic ballast and that ruined it for me.

Anyone have some pics of these pink bulbs? How pink and how long do they stay that way? Are the 12k bulbs pink as well?

Here are pics of my new Reeflux 10k's. These are 250w and are being compared to my 20k Radiums.

The ballast is a Sunlight Supply BlueWave 7 dual 250w HQI ballast so its a little on the yellow site but very intense good lord its very intense.

My new ballast should arrive Friday or Monday, they are the 250w Reef Fanatic e-ballasts so according to Sanjay's site the color temp is around 12k on the RF ballast verses 9k'ish on a HQI ballast.

I should have my RF e-ballasts here soon. I contemplated the EVC and the IC e-ballasts but it seems like the RF ballasts give a closer to 'true' color of the bulb and has a higher PAR reading too.

I'll post pics of it with the HQI ballast and on the e-ballast for comparison.

According to Sanjay's site the 10k Reeflux (250w) on a RF e-ballast is 12k in color temp and has a PPFD reading of 94 or 96 if I remember correctly.

gil716, what was the nipple orientation before/after unscrewing the bulb?

Travis,
Originally, the nipple was at 5 o' clock. Now it's at 3 o' clock. It's a huge difference.

I'll move it to 2 o' clock, as recommended, to see if there's any difference.

I just recieved my 12K DE Reeflux. The box says Reeflux but the lamp is stamped with Venture. I ordered 2 of them and both says Venture. Is this right?
