cFloor's 190g

Wow Greg, that's crazy. What kind of angels did that? The only angels I've had problems with were a flame and a Griffis. I figure if a fish starts going after my corals I should be able to remove it… i hope.

Imperator, meridithi, majestic

I had a bad experience with emperor and goldflake. But I've had my regal angel for 6 years, and the only thing he devours are zoanthids and xenia(I'm fine with both). I've always wanted to pair mine up, but haven't yet.

Good to hear you are happy with your DSA. I'm waiting on my custom 225 from DSA to get delivered. I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on the 190 like yours. The dimmensions on the 190's are excellent!

Tank Swap

Great looking tank/corals/fish...

Can you tell me how you did the tank transfer? I'm getting ready to switch my 180 Oceanic over to my Miracles Custom Rimless...

Thank you,

I haven't tried an Emperor in a reef tank and I've always had good luck with goldflakes, I hope my luck continues. And of course, regals are the best!
I think you will be very happy with the 225. I love my new tank, but bigger is always better. If I wasn't on a second story, I probably would have tried a larger tank.

Thank you,

Thank you. For the transfer, I made sure I had plenty of extra saltwater mixed and ready to go. I removed all my corals from my previous tank and placed them into my sump and a holding tank that was plumbed into my sump, so the water was the same. My fish went into separate QT tanks, and a good number of them were given away or sold off because I didn't have the equipment to run enough tanks. My fish all handled the transfer just fine, but my corals all took a big hit, although I didn't lose a single piece. They all lost all color and some had stn issues. They are still bouncing back, maybe a little slower than I would like as I'm still trying to get use to the new tank.

A little update: Everything seems to be going well. My dosing of 2 part has gone up about 20 percent since setting up the new tank. Most of my corals are doing well and a few just aren't showing the colors they had in my old tank. I've moved some stuff around looking for that sweet spot and added a few more corals from my frag tank.

I removed my Pacific Blue Tang because he was bullying everything and was causing a stressful environment for all my other fish. I also removed my misbar regal and temporarily placed him in my frag tank. He eats fine, just not as aggressively as my other fish and I felt he wasn't getting his fare share of food. It's almost as if he studies each bite before making a decision, lol. I've had another regal for some time now and I plan on adding her to my display tank soon.

This pic was taken of my Miyagi Tort? a few weeks back when I added it

Today, it is doing much better but still not looking as good as it did in my old tank. I think in another month or so it will be back to it's old self

And my new fish, that I am very excited about. I've always wanted a pair but never found them small enough.

Beautiful
thanks so much
+1!
Love the bucket pic...it's like he's saying...come on man, just put me in there!lol
Awesome fish!
thank you, lol These little guys are very personable. I feel very fortunate to have them in my tank. If one ever turns male, that'd just be the icing on the cake.
Great update, can't wait to see more.
Appreciate it, I'm trying to learn how to take better pics or maybe a video coming up soon. I've been playing around with the go pro, so we'll see.

The tank is now three months old and I'm generally happy with it's progress. I've always felt that my favorite part of this hobby is sharing it with others who are also involved, but also with those who are not. My friends 4 year old, seen below, was absolutely fascinated by the tank. He sat and stared and pointed out his favorite fish for a good amount of time. It was fun to watch and for once, his parents had a little break as he has very high energy.

Great shot. Nice seeing the tank, but also seeing how your 4 year old is interested in the tank. Awesome!

I agree great shot. It is pretty cool the affect tanks can have with kids, we have a 19 month old grandson and when he visits if he gets upset I just take him down to the tank and he stops crying immediately and is in awe watching the fish.

Love the cabinetry and the aquascaping! Looks great. I'm excited to see some more coral pics when they have recovered 100%. :D That bucket pic of the Angels is so cute!

Thank you Sahin, He's actually a friend of mine's son. But it was really fun watching him and his interest in the fish. He was drawn to the tank immediately.

Thanks! That's really neat about your grandson. I told my girlfriend when we have kids the tank might come in handy, haha.

Thank you Myka. I'm not getting the colors I'm hoping for yet, but hopefully I will soon. The new angels are really sweet little fish. They get more outgoing every day in their new home and are holding their own with my other fish. I'm very excited and happy to have them.

I'm very excited to add what should be my last fish to this tank. I have what I would consider a high fish load, and as far as wrasses go i now have a lineatus, rhomboid, eight line flasher, and a pair of solomon island filamented flashers (which are very cool!)

Hopefully I will get a video up soon, as things are starting to look better.

Wrasses are cool fish. They add lots of movement. Look forward to the video. :) Your new fish looks stunning. Under the tank lights the yellow and blue/purple should look amazing.
