Copperband Butterfly Primer

Is there any commercial brand that sells them freeze dried for example ? Here in Argentina it's impossible to get them.

Thanks I also saw a California company that sells them. I'm going to the states in a couple weeks and was thinking about getting some freeze dried for my CBB.

Freeze dried worms won't work. I am afraid you have tio move to a place that sells them. Some times we have to do these things for the fish.

I cannot get any black worm here at all. Frozen or fresh. I think I can order leve ones and also can order freeze black worm.
I removed the Powder blue tang from my DT because he harassed by CBB mercilessly. Now my two CBB can eat in piece. They are in a full reef so there are plenty of feather duster, they start to remove them. Also there are a lot of Medusa worms on the sand that I notice them picking at these worms. There are plenty of Aptasia also. I hope they will move on to these after the worms are gone. I have fed my previous CBB with frozen steamer clams before. I think I will try to train them on theses and not worry about black worms.
I am going to hold off on order any live Black worm or Frozen black worm at this time.

Ive had my cbb for half a,week now and im so happt i got him. He follows me around, he gets scared easily tho. Hes a picky eater when it comes to frozen but engulfs live mysis.

Im super protectove over him i want his health to be 110% ive been feeding him almosr all day he never stops!

So, I had a LFS special order me a CBB from Bali (thru a MAC certified wholesaler). I can't really afford a specimen from Australia, but at least I figured this way I wasn't getting one from the Philippines that might have had cyanide poisoning.

The LFS had the fish for a week and it wouldn't eat anything. They tried live baby brine, mysis, clams, etc. I went over there with some live blackworms and he ate like a champ. So, I figured "problem solved" and took him home (and placed him in my QT).

It's been two days now and he won't eat anything. Not even the live blackworms. I've tried Rod's, brine, mysis, Nutramar ova, cyclopeeze, clams, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Here's a quick pic of him in QT (for sympathy points :p). I'm thinking of going with a smaller PVC "cave" so he feels more secure inside it.

Give him time hes prob still a lil stressed :)

Well, I knew if I posted something about it he'd start eating. :debi:

He's eating brine now, but only after it hits the bottom. Of course, now there's a whole new problem... he's twitching pretty good. I'm guessing either ich or flukes in the gills. I really don't want to give him a f/w dip to find out which it is until after he's eaten more & is stronger.

I would watch him to see if he is twitching all the time.

My copperband twitches like crazy every time I come near the tank.

He wants me to feed him.

I have heard of other copperbands doing a twitch dance also as a food response.

CBB grab the worm, food, and twitch the head and snout side-way to pull the worm out. I think this is the reason that they twitch their head at the sight of food. Mine does definitely act like that when I feed him.

I noticed some white dots on the fins this morning, so I went ahead and started CP treatment. It might just be Lympho, but IME the spots are too small & numerous to be Lympho. If the twitching continues or gets worse, I'll dose Prazi next.

I really wanted to get him eating more before starting the meds... but it was a judgement call.
