*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

What powerhead are you going to use in the fuge?
MP40 for now.
Who knows... maybe a Gyre 135 in the future would be better for tumbling chaeto.

Dennis, is that Jeff's standard design fuge now, or did you have a hand in the design?

I really like it, I especially like the safety drain bulkhead. I had a clog in the bottom drain of my Lifereefugium a couple years back. Put 2-3 gallons of saltwater in my carpet, and the attendant kalkwasser overdose from the autotopoff damn near crashed my tank.
Man, that's crazy. Good to know though.
I didn't request it so must be something new.
I never would have thought about it. And that's one reason I went with Jeff. He's been doing this for so long, he's going to know better than me how to design something like this! I could have had it (and the sump) built locally and saved quite a bit of cash, but it would have been at the expensive of missing some important design details... like that emergency drain.

The emergency drain is definitely a must. I didn't realize it at the time, but without the safety I was basically running a Herbie drain without a dry emergency. Dumb, one clog away from a disaster.

I ended up drilling a hole in the upper part of the fuge and using a uniseal to make my own dry emergency.
That's the one thing I like about acrylic. Not hard to drill if needed!

Dennis, where do you find all the spare time for your builds!?
Luckily I have a very understanding wife! Who is about ready to murder me. :worried:

Stock.
I honestly don't know what the GPH.
And if I end up with just Gyre's, on the display, i can move the Vortech module for my Profilux to the fish room for more control.

My WXM actually worked from 40 feet away, through two walls to my surprise.

Here ya go!

I got on Jeff's list back in JUNE and it finally arrived this morning.
Was on a palette, surrounded by plywood, and then inside the plywood was this styrofoam box.

What's better than a styrofoam boat on a warm December day?!

What came inside the boat, of course!
This is the naked sump.
The covers, bulkheads, drains, filter media trays, etc all have to be installed.
All that stuff arrived with the refugium.

The only thing I'm still waiting on is the filter canisters and manifold, which will go in this "accessory rack".
I also had Jeff put in some holes to hold some john guest fittings for 1/4" water line, and also for my level sensors.
Those are for my ATO and Auto Water Changes.

I've since peeled off all the brown protective paper and got in place.
Now to start assembly/plumbing!

Love everything Lifereef. Quality stuff that works. Every time.

Nice sump Dennis! Looks like Santa really is real!! I wonder how much Santa would charge for shipping to HK??
He does ship worldwide! ;)

That is one heck of a sump! Merry early Christmas!

Your fish room is going to be phenomenal
Thanks. And yes, just in time for Xmas. :celeb2:

Nice! I can't wait to see a video of it working!
oh jeeze... something else I need to do?

Man, that is some serious sump porn. Looks like beautiful work, although I'd expect nothing less from Jeff.

I is jealous.

Damn, that's a hell of a sump!! When are you going to start plumbing?

Already started!
I did a little yesterday and just got done plumbing about 12 hours straight. :crazy1:

Almost done with main plumbing with true union ball valves capping off auxiliary flow to things like the chiller, reactors, frag tank, and mangrove tank. Those I can plumb later. So just a few more bits and I can at least get the main system running.
