The DSB is something I have used and it works very effective. Just make sure that a good source of sNd is used and seeded correctly to work. I really like the sandbed as it adds to the health of Sps in my opinion.
I must be getting old cause I'm much more interested in how awesome your house renovation turned out. Very impressive.

Can you please elaborate on this? What's the proper seeding procedure? What do you think is the actual benefit?
I initially was going to have one, but after talking to local club members and researching the heck out of it on RC I could not find any confirmation. In theory it will lower the nitrates, but I never had an issue with those anyhow.
With such a small DSB section, I doubt it'd do much good. Why LR in the sump? I think it'd make siphoning detritus a pain.
Your build is out of control lol!! In a good way though. As far as the DSB goes, from my understanding, in the long run, is more of a hassle because it has to be replaced. Also, it is a really effective way to "capture" nutrients. Nice work so far though. I am really jealous of your craftsman skills!
You could always try something like the MarinePure 8x8x4 Bio block? As opposed to LR in the sump. Raise it up on eggcrate etc. siphoning won't be as much of a pain.
Yes a RDSB is a good choice if the surface area and depth are correct. Seeding is basically critters from live rocks , worms and pods. All of this can be had from good quality live rock and from someone who already has an established sand bed, just ask for a cup or two and dump it on the new sand. It will also help with nutrients as having a barebottom tank looks great and clean but sometimes the system becomes ULNS and the owner can't keep the balance.
Edit; don't go with anything less the 4" sand bed.

We need more pics even if the tank is not ready hell I'll take shots of the cabinetry the floors the audis anything give us some eye candy lol
What a great set of photos! You've got a great taste and design skills, this is already looking awesome even without a tank in the room.
And great looking previous tanks, you obviously know what you are doing and what you are after.
Are you going to be making a hole in that beautiful hardwood?
Sorry I took so long to comment after looking at the pics of your place I fainted and dropped my phone so had to go on my computer lol. Amazing crib and that stand is to die for can't wait to see the tank on it. How's the downstairs coming along
