Yeah, I'm thinking I'm just going to do that too. I'm going to put mine on a cuttlefish tank and I really don't want to make it complicated. Pictures and/or a wiring diagram would be very much appreciated.

yep! about as simple as it gets. good stuff. Thanks for posting. You able to keep them cool enough? I've seen people make heatsinks with thicker aluminum or copper sheeting, by stacking different sized cutouts to create like horizontal fins vs vertical. Or you could use C-channel fastened together side-by-side and attach both pucks to it. I'd be concerned about the life of the LEDs using such a small amount thermal control.
So you're running two strings, white and royal blue in parallel. Meaning you're running 16LEDs total: 8 LEDs in each string @ ~700mA. I'd think that 24V just barely covers the voltage needed for that. If you have a multimeter, can you tell us what voltage drop you have over one LED?
edit- I just looked again - is that just the puck? I thought that was a piece of aluminum you have the puck attached to at first. It wouldn't be very expensive to add at least a little C-channel or something and a PC fan on top of that - it'd probably worth your cost and effort.
Im not too worried about lifespan as they are just spares from the 3 lights I upgraded to g2. I have left them open at the top and have a 10 inch fan blowing directly onto them. Even if they only last 1 year I have 4 other spare pucks. I just wanted to do it real cheap as it only for sump frag tank not top tank.

I would be worried about them even lasting a year. For 20$ you can know they will last a year+ Besides, you could sell the extra lights and buy the heatsink and still have more money in your pocket.
I have the G2 non pro pucks(2 of them) and going to run them off 5 ldd's(700's) for each channel control. I am going to be using a 20x8" heat sink with a fan on top so no worries on cooling. They will be spread slightly further apart then if the radion. If any shadowing or gaps occur I will add a few whites and blues(mix royal & blue) to fill in. Power supply will be a Meanwell CLG-150-36A 150W. I know I will not be coming close to running these at what they are capable of. Just have to get the wiring done. Going to use cat 5 cable for signal to the boards themselves. They will be controlled by a storm controller as soon as I get it ordered.
Did anyone find the crimping tool or just soldier the connectors?
I think any regular crimping tool rated for that size should work. I only found reference on the JST datasheet for the industrial size crimp tool. I also looked for solder pins but no luck on that either. I'm most likely going to solder mine and crimp the tabs down with needle nose pliers.
That is also not a constant current driver, Soooo, the only thing you have limiting the current (probably to well under 500mA) is that your power supply can only output 24 volts and those 8 blue LEDs would need much more than that to run even at 700mA. So, if the heatsink is still cool enough not to burn you then you are fine as it is running low current, If you can't touch it though those LEDs will be toast in weeks, maybe months, not anywhere near a year. If some how they are running at 1.5 amps then you will probably start something on fire when the power supply burns up.......
Get a heatsink and a couple LDD drivers and run them proper off that PSU, even if at lower currents for the sump. then sell the other pucks to us!
