Looks like they're doing some great work for you, Alan. Whatcha gonna do with all the holes in the overflow?

Looks like a Beananimal type silent overflow.... Two of them. You must be planning on a lot of flow through your sump.

Actually I had the middle two as extras -- I thought at one time of using one to feed a closed loop but bought two Vortechs instead. I will just plug the bulkheads.

Actually I did think of having two BeanAnimal style overflows, but after confering with him it seems that you need three separate runs back to the sump. Tying them all together into a single return (which is what I have) somehow makes the system ineffective. I'm going to have two Dursos (the outer holes) with two emergency open overflows next to them (in case you haven't read all my thread I'm anal retentive when it comes to water). :p

I am voting for Alan as this years "most neat Rube Goldberg" plumber. I am getting a headache just trying to follow the plumbing Alan - are you sure the "K.I.S.S. method was not possibly confused with the "Mad Scientist" method...HA!
Now I think I understand why you folks always drove on the wrong side of the road <G>........
So - spring it on us - WHERE is the Guiness tap to be installed in the plumbing???
Cheers!

GEEEEZZZZ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Alan - I do not know WHY the system duplicated my post so many times...Sorry...
Send me a bill for the wasted bandwidth<G>

It's not complicated -- it's just -- well -- circuitous. :p
Here's the Bass Ale tap (I don't much care for Guinness).

Hint: You have a fifteen minute grace period where you can delete repeat posts. Just click on edit and the delete option is at the top of the screen.

Yep - I know... *BUT* the system would not let me delete the posts...
I tried 3 times immediately after it happened. Less than one minute.
Went into edit screen - and when I attempted to delete - I got the "unauthorized" screen....
What's a mother to do?

Stand Build Update

Stand Build Update

Okay, the fluted corner posts arrived Friday. I ordered them online from here: TableLegs.com. Really good turn around (about five days from order to delivery).

And I picked up the panel molding from a local millwork shop on Monday.

So I was all ready to start finishing the panels/doors. Here's what I used for cutting the molding, a real fancy miter box saw

JERGENSENMITERSAW.jpg

I first installed the fluted corner posts.

After which I started adding the molding and plywood inserts to the panel frames that I made last week. Here's the completed front panels/doors.

And the right hand end panel.

Tomorrow I will finish up the panels and start on the baseboard and top trim.
Stay tuned. :p

Nice clean lines on the cabinet. turning out to be quite a nice build. Will you be doing a top as well -- with hinges opening up or one of the front (gas shock) opening variety to get access to the tank?
-- Seth

Does Alan have majpr power tools or is all that work done with a jig saw. electric screw driver and chisel? ;)

Nice work Alan.

Wow..a true craftsman..Everything looks perfectly square.

I had my flash go out on my camera but will get some pics up soon. Still waiting for my RKE on back order. I did score some frags yesterday..woohoo

Yes I am pleased so far but more importantly so is my better half. :p I won't be having a full canopy as I'm going to either hang the lights from the ceiling or bracket off the back wall. I will add a small "band" around the top rim of the tank to hide the water line and the return pipes and also stop a direct line of sight to the lamps to prevent glare as the tank is visible from where we watch TV.
