GHL Doser 2 Owners Club

Micheal, would it be wise to just get SA model given the features [extra temp probe and 2 level sensors] it has over the slave version?

Not really as you cant connect it to the profilux that already has these features and the slave is to be released this year

Temperature Sensor arrived for my Doser 2 !

What temp sensor should we be using? The one on the Profilux or Doser 2? Is there a great difference? And since the Doser 2 has no screen then can we only see the temp once we connect to it?

The Doser 2 utilizes a BNC connection Temperature Sensor instead of the Mini-Din connection used on the ProfiLux Controllers. Product #PL-1115 is the appropriate sensor, which is roughly $70 US.

Maybe someone from GHL can comment on the advantages of using a Digital BNC Temperature Sensor.

My understanding is that the Doser 2 will only 'monitor' the temperature for whichever application you may fancy.

There are (4)four ways that i can think of to see a readout measuring temperature.

1. Doser 2 has a Control Pad port on the back of the unit, possible monitor to be released(?)

2. Via Control Center, PC.

3. GHL Control, Smartphone/Tablet.

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed response.

Is the Doser 2 SA able to connect to the Profilux? So the Profilux can use the digital sensor?

Shaggss,

No problem.

At the present time, no. Communication between a Doser 2 SA and a ProfiLux controller can not be made. Though, it is unclear if such function will be enabled by a firmware update.

Thanks again Jerel, much appreciated.

Well i have joined the club!

But what I can't find is the manual?

I went to the link provided in the previous post but can't find the GHL Doser 2 manual?

Can someone point,to where to find it

Have looked on GHL site in downloads but can't see it?

I want to know what speed to run it at and how to calibrate to,run 8ml of Zeo start 3 twice a day
Thanks
Maury

Well, I must say, my experience with this pump has not been a good one. Was unable to get either WLAN or LAN to work, so have had to stick with USB. Now, in the process of attempting to calibrate the three dosers the operation is very strange. First off, pump 1 operates far more slowly (6 ml/min) than does pump 2 (12 ml/min) than does pump 3 (75 ml/min); though all pumps were set to the same speed in the console for calibration. Further, none of the pumps changed speed when I reset the speed for, say '2' to '0'. Is this normal operation?

Very frustrating (invested about 6 hours so far; time which I have far better use for) and I'm whisker close to packing this thing up and sending it back.

Hi
My biggest suggestion would be to ask for support. There is 0% reason to not be up and running. Even if you have asked for support and are still not sure GHL offer a "log in" service so they remotely set you up, so there is absolute no reason for you not to be online.

We are here to help you just need to ask and then we can help. If you have asked and still confused just ask for higher level connectivity support, its free and available to all.

In regards to calibration OR any setting change, the system takes about 5 minutes to upload, in this time do not disconnect from the PC. The Doser is a very high functioning computer, it has to re boot.

First line for any support please post on http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/forumdisplay.php?3-English If still stuck GHL will then assist remotely

First thing lets get you posting on the forum for support. :)

Simple answer insane pinpoint accuracy.

No the SA doser is an SA doser meaning stand alone, meaning it has a built in controller, the SA doser 2 will not be able to connect to the ProfiLux, there is a slave version being released for this purpose.

Our brand new cloud service myGHL stands just before the open beta. myGHL will allow you to control all GHL cloud capable devices from all over the World.
We are looking for 30 volunteers for closed beta test to ensure, that myGHL open beta gives our customers the best user experience.

We are starting with myGHL for the GHL Doser 2.

For participation you have to be registered in our forum and own the GHL Doser 2.

The first 30 applicants will be invited to the closed beta test, we will set up a separate area in our forum, where you will get further information.

The myGHL closed beta service will be probably available on 01/23/2015.
If you want to participate in our closed beta test, please send us an email with your first name, last name and user account in our forum to "beta@ghl-kl.de".

After running the beta test for a while we will open myGHL for every user.

Knowing GHL the way I do and dealing with all sales for the whole of North America and involved a lot with global support I am hyper confident this is really not the case at all. You would be the very first in the whole network, so please be assured the likelihood when you buy a GHL product to have a duff unit is pretty much non existent.

If you run into a dead end contact me and we will higher level it for you.

OK, I think the unit is fine. I am not particularly computer-friendly and get frustrated very easily with these things particularly when manuals are less than completely clear (I write for a living :)). The issue appears to be 'save'. There is no button I can see that saves configuration changes. As far as I can see, one has to close the dosing pump tab in order for changes to be saved. Upon reopening the tab, the speed change is then reflected by the pump. I've asked Artur if this is correct operation. But if so, it would have been helpful to have this reflected in the manual as it would have saved me some time and a couple of testy emails.

Thank you for being so responsive in this thread.

on the top of the software (everyone will have this, all using the same software) the is a tab that says "save"

Once you have pressed save it takes 5 minutes for those settings to populate so if you dont save or disconnect nothing will change.

I am not connected right now but of someone else can post a screen shot you will see it.
