Heteractis magnifica splitting

So after a log absence of not having anemones I decided to get this tiny magnifica about 3 1/2 inches wide. I had her for about three weeks now and lo and behold she has split into two, my first split :xlbirthday: Now I have two 1 1/2 to 2 inch anemones. I thought they split when they are much larger. Anyone have them split this small? Both are now fully healed and the clone has moved up to the tank to get more light. All are full and expanded. No deflating.

+1. Sure it's a mag? I've never heard of mags splitting anywhere near that small, but BTAs often do.

I was thinking the same thing. I had a mag that split but it was closer to 5", and even at that size I was surprised it happened since they can get to be over 24".

Bet it's a BTA. Got fooled more than once myself. FWIW, my last mag got to about 2' and still wouldn't split. Had to rehome it.

I've never heard of one splitting that small. When they split that means they are stressing
