How to build a CO2 regulator for your calcium reactor.

How can you tell if the regulator is dual stage or single stage? I'm trying to piece one together little by little but a lot of the regulators that I'm coming across don't specify what it is. Here is an example of one of one of them: praxair 2121391-580. I can't find anything that says it's a dual stage.

I recommend you to check out sale thread for great deal on parts and fulk set-up :)

Dual stage is the one that sticks out from the back, check first page for ex.

Finished putting it together still need to get the power supply and the piece to connect the co2 tube. Will test for leaks

Jimmy it looks like this reg is a face seal (vcr). You need to use a face seal fittings on the inlet and outlet otherwise you will have a leak. Your co2 will go out fast.

hi,

this is a great thread, i have some of the parts for my setup, looking for a metering valve, is any better then others,
parts i have now
reg
cga adapter
6011 valve
fittings to put everything up the valve.

thanks

Alan not clear what you mean can you show me what I need to do to the inlet and outlet?

The inlet is the CGA 320 nipple. The outlet is the port after the low pressure gauge. The ports on this regulator are face seal . You need to get a face seal CGA320 nipple and a face seal to npt adapter.

Here is the link for the face seal CGA320 nipple. You still can use your existing CGA320 nut.

This is the 1/4 VCR x 1/4 NPT hex (bargain the seller). Attach this to your reg outlet port then follow by your existing 90 degree elbow and so on.

You also need 2 VCR gaskets. Insert these between your cga320 nipple and the reg inlet port. Same goes to the outlet side.
