I-Tech Skimmer Club .

Thats exactly the reason I'm getting one. I dont think Ive read a single negative comment about the overall performance or appearance of this skimmer. Plus John was very helpful and lived up to what everyone said about his customer service. Ended up getting a couple of emails on a weekend from him.


Its been two weeks since he told me 2-3 weeks so hopefully I will be receiving it next week or the week after. I'll be crossing my fingers that its next week.
 
Well talked to John a few days ago and he said the skimmers are still another 3 weeks out due to some illness in the production staff. This wait is killin me!
 
Update on availability: I got an email from John this weekend. The latest batch of skimmers is going into testing and should start delivering sometime next week.
 
I just recently joined the Club. I've had my Model 150 (Model 100 w/ internal Tunze) up for about two weeks. Very easy to dial-in, super-quiet and making gunk at a prodigious rate. Very impressed.
 
There's pictures on the I-Tech site. It's the Model 100 with the pump installed internally in the base. really small footprint. I believe there's also an internal model of the 200 as well.
 
i have one of the original itech 100 john made with euroreef collection cups it has been updated with tunze pump

looking to upgrade to a 400 once the new tank is up
 
Just got my I-Tech BEAST home a few days ago! Man this thing is a monster, and wellllll worth the wait. I think it was 2-2.5 months of a wait but this thing is completely custom. The pumps are modified Laguna's and are in body with custom volute's and the whole shabang. The last month of the wait was John dialing in and tweaking the skimmer and pumps for optimum performance. Who does that? :beer: This thing is made in the USA and is handmade...but more than all of that, the customer service is second to none.

I am currently setting up a 210 with 50 gal sump. I was wanting to use an external skimmer but not sure if iTech skimmers were external. SPS are my favorite coral so I am hoping to keep a fair amount of that type of coral. Do you think the 200 will be sufficient?

I just took my 200 (with Tunze hydrofoamer) off my 105g with 29g sump. Over-skimming just didn't work well for me. Finally decided that it was just too much skimmer for my tank, not leaving enough nutrients for the coral. I'm going with something smaller and see what happens. I think you'd be pretty good with a 200 on that setup. It's a fantastic skimmer, quiet and pulls only 23 watts. You are probably looking at 200-215 net gallons after subtracting for rock/sand. If there is an external model, I'm guessing it would be a custom job.
 
I am running an i-TECH 200 on my 225 and I am having no problems at all. I believe there is an external kit for the 200 at an additional cost.
 
Anybody having problems with the black sheath on there Tunze pumps, I just saw a post on the Tunze site, they had one go bad in a little over a year.
