If You Are New to Reef Central, Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello, I am also new here. I haven't got the funds to get a tank up and running for myself yet but I have about a years experience managing a fish department at a pet store (fresh and salt). Plan to get a large build going in the near future but I might get to antsy and just start a nano while I wait lol.

'sup RC?

Im Russ, and Im based in Yorkshire, England.

Currently I run a D&D DX24, thats about 3 years old.

In the next couple of weeks im planning a bit of an upgrade to an Aqua Medic Chromis (55cm cube), largely so i can get fish that i can see. Might even start a tank thread!

My current stock are a red fire fish, green mandarin (yes, he eats frozen, and cultured pods) and a yasha haze/pistol shrimp combo, all of which generaly like hiding!

In there i also have an acan, duncan, branching hammer, toadstool, zoas, catalaphyllia, candy cane, and some gsps

[welcome]
Definitely start a thread.

Hello RC. I am Wayne and I apparently joined this forum and never had any input or did anything really. I have been in the saltwater game since 1 June 2009. I originally started out with a 125 gallon and now upgraded to a 225 gallon setup.

I would definitely like to see a thread for your 225.

I'm new to this. I'm setting up a 29g at home verrrrry slowly. I'm planning on a seahorse tank, so I am researching the heck out of it before I even get water. Should be drilling the tank tomorrow.

I rarely get to hear about someone with a seahorse tank. Be sure to document and post your progress in a new thread.

Hey guys, this is my obligatory introduction post. I'm new to RC, but I've been a member of thereeftank for a while under the same alias. I hope to learn a lot and help out even more, I've already written many guides etc, so hope to contribute here as well.
[welcome]
you should fit in nicely with us. Maybe you ca share some of your guides in the NTTH forum.

Hello,

My name is David and I am an addict and I am back. I used to go under the alias of Mobilecal but now just David since I have come to terms with my addiction. I have been out for about 8 years since I got rid of my 180 but intend on getting back in with at least a 230+ this time. Looking to gain even more technical knowledge before my next dive. Cheers!

To those folks just starting the hobby:
Just keep the money flowing along with the water. This hobby is most addictive and rewarding. My husband and I started out with a 110 gal. And traded up to a 180 gal. Five years ago. We love it! It is cheaper that a shrink! We have learned a lot and continue to research and learn daily. Having a knowledgeable and trustworthy local dealer and maintenance person has been crucial to the success of our tank. The heartbreak does come with the crashes; however, it all works out with the help of money.

Hi everyone, new here but not to the hobby - around 5+ years saltwater tanks. I'm coming from Maast - San Antonio area. Looking forward to learning form you guys. I'm really into zoas but starting to get back into sps.

Question, how do I get into the for sale area...I've heard its incredible but don't see how to access it on the board.

New to RC and just wanted to say hello to everyone. Heres a little about myself I have been in the Hobby for several years now (10) and have great experiences in this hobby. My current setups are a 125 gallon mixed reef and a 25 gallon rimless cube. The cube is my Zoa garden. Most of my knowledge in the hobby is about Zoas/Palys.

I do want to be open to the forums and let everyone know that I do work with directaquarium.com so I will not be posting in the for sale threads and such per the terms of service. I am always happy to give advice to fellow reefers and help as much as I can. Thanks and I look forward in meeting new friends :)

Hello! I registered a while back but am fresh into reef tanks! I've been in fresh water for about 9 years now and finally got the opportunity to start a reef. I recently bought a 120g wide and am building it up to be (what i hope) will be an impressive mixed reef.

Nice to see you all again!

New member, but 9years in the hobby

Hi RC

My name is Michael I am 30 years old and I live en Denmark.

I started in 2001 in this hobby, since then I have had a 450/118gal coral reef tank, a 200L/52gal fish tank with clowns an tiny pygme angelfishes. Then I upgraded when I was offered a cheap 1000L/264gal.
Unfortunately I had a short circuit in my electricity and I had a fire and my tank exploded at the end of my tank:thumbdown
Now I have a 2000L/528gal fish tank, and my goal is to fill it with mostly angelfish of different kind, at the moment I have most surgeonfishes and tangs.

Glad to have you aboard. Sounds like you have extensive knowledge about zoas and your input is definitely welcomed.

Sorry to hear about the fire, but it sounds like you rebounded well, be sure to start a thread in the Large Reef Tank Forum.

New to the hobby of SW. Currently looking for a first tank, I don't have my old FW tanks so it's brand new to me. Spent the last week researching it and looking on craigslist and local aquarium websites for used (cheap) equipment.
