hello fellow reefers, just wanted to drop a few lines about myself and my system. I'm 32, happily married and have a beautiful 4yr old girl named Coral (named after grandma). I have a 75gal BIW sps , lps tank. 40gal DIY sump/fuge, 2 175 13k aqualine,2 96 actinic 03, 6 moonlights, 1-96 50/50 over fuge, modified berlin turbo, just added 2 chamber cal. reactor and RK2 system. my reef is 10 years old and I currently house approximately 80 corals (lots of ORA's, tyree LE's and other rare corals). I also have a condy which is about 20in (about time to sell). future plans are for a 250gal sps and lots of fragging. plan on being in this hobby for a very long time, hopefully reefcentral will be there with us. oh yeah, Coral can name about every coral in our system.

wow--over 80 corals---I would love to see some pics

Your expertise will be appreciated on this site

Here´s another newbie to the hobby! I´m a Swede, living in Stockholm with a newly started nano tank in the kitchen. After my last dive trip to Egypt and Sharm-el-Sheik I just had to bring a piece of the Red Sea into the apartment! My tank has been up and running for app. 1 month and is currently inhabitated by handfull of crabs, hermites and snails, a Euphyllia Glabrescens, a Galaxea, a Bubble Coral and two Fire shrimps. Looking forward to join RC and start learning!:)

Love to see some pics of your pieces of the Red Sea

Hello everybody,
My name is efrain and I’m 22 years old male. I live Carson, California. I always wanted a reef aquarium but never had the money or time to maintain one. I finish college (I attained a BA in Computer Science) and currently employed. I have the time to take care of an aquarium and I work 3 miles away so I can come home for lunch to feed the fish if needed. i been reading forum and books on how to set-up and maintain the aqurium.(currently reading "Saltwater Aquariums or Dummies") I want an aquarium that measures 48 ½ X 18 ½ X 23 3/8. (80 Gallon) I want to buy the equipment this weekend (Birthday present to myself). I want coral, live rock, invertebrates, and a couple of fish. I’m open to any suggestion on equipment that I should buy or stay away from? (For the size of my aquarium)

Here is some great first readings for you:

Hi to all, I am Krish from India.....I am new to saltwater ,my 200litre tank is just 2 weeks old in the middle of cycling process. I have built a sump with 5 chambers, first 3 chambers for the media while the last 2 are for protein skimmer and pump respectively.
I have been going through the articles of RC for the last 1 months and it helped me a lot in gaining knowledge about marine aquarium.

Looking over RK is a great way to find information. Use this forum for questions not answered there.

Hi! I'm by no means new to fish but am relatively new to reef keeping. I have a 55 gallon reef with a Rapids filter, a 12 gallon nano and a 33 gallon frag tank with a 10 gallon sump. My water all checks out good however I'm having problems getting my zoo's to open up in any tank. I have some cyanobacteria in the 55 I'm treating for but other than that I have no idea the problem. I use trace elements, Blackpowder, and of course calcium and reef builder. any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi I just joined this forum on recommendation of my good friend DaveOcean. I reside in San Diego. Ive had a fish tank for over 20 years, but have only had a saltwater tank since December(8 months). I have a 90 gallon semi cube reef, and a 34 gallon Solana dedicated to a pair of Picasso Clowns, and RBTA. I belong to another couple reef forums but I see there is far more information/experience here.

Hi from St. Louis!

Hi from St. Louis!

Hi, I'm Nikki from St. Louis, MO. After much lurking about this site and gathering information, I figured it was time to introduce myself!

I've been keeping freshwater planted tanks for 15+ years and also had a figure-eight puffer for about 6 years (still my favorite fish!) I had started a 55 gallon saltwater tank about 10 years ago but sold it after less than a year as I had to move. I have a 29 gallon (standard glass 30" long) that I will be setting up very soon. My main goal for this tank is 2-3 very small fish, polyps, mushrooms, and various snails/small crabs.

Just posted my first question in a new thread and am sure I will have many, many more to come, so thanks in advance for your time and patience! :D
