Jebao Cross Flow Pump

Can we not start this patent garbage again. This thread was just recently getting back to the original topic and has actually been nice to read lately.

Agreed.

I have started a new thread to address patent issues with title, appropriately enough, "Maxspect Patent Garbage." Here's the link: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2566754 Feel free to post there as you wish. I will monitor and update on the b.s., money-grubbing attorney proceedings in that thread. Does that make everyone happy? :)

Woo Hoo! Well done, almost like a honey pot for amateur patent lawyers. :)

I sure hope it helps keep the crazies away! Good idea and thanks.

Hmmm... I wouldn't hold your breath...

You clearly work for Jebao. Can you send me a non-wifi version?

LoooL!

PS: Cross Flows are still running flawlessly. I have increased the flow to 40%, frequency dial on 50% in W3 mode. Every coral is loving the flow so far.

Ya GOT me! Wow! A veritable Sherlock Holmes. Now can you tell us where MH370 is?:facepalm::facepalm::headwally::headwally:

For the rest of you, I will not post further on this thread re patent matters.

Based on what I've seen, people have been pleased with the Jaebo product, whereas there have been quality issues with the Maxspect product. I likely will go with Jaebo product when tank gets here and gets set up and will post my experiences to extent they add to the discussion of the product merits.

any video of the tank with the new settings?

I'll have to shoot one when I get a second, although I've actually reduced it down a little as I have switched on one of the RW-8's positioned low down behind the bommies against the back wall. This runs on a schedule from the Apex.

The reason was that this area needed a little direct flow to clear detritus that was collecting in one spot. The downside is that with the flow accross the whole of the tank, I get a sandstorm whipped up by the Cross Flows at 40%.

My biggest problem with the WP-60s is that I have them off for some periods of time... As a consequence: crabs, snails and shrimp crawl in and get smashed or lock up the impeller.

Do these have a grill that's big enough for the same thing to happen?

no not at all. I'd say the only invert that can fit in the grills could be a serpent or brittle star or tiny ceriths.

Mine are constantly running, so haven't had this problem yet, however the google images is littered with pics of the Maxspect Gyre rotors being completely trashed by a tiny cerith snail. It hasn't happened yet on the cross flow, but I would say it's a risk with this type of pump. Although the grill opening are small compared to the RW pumps and probably the WP's

Hmmm. I may need to look for a way to alternate between very slow and on instead of off and on.

If you have the controller, then you can do this without problem. I'm just waiting for the Apex controller to come out, but they do a bundle with the wifi controller (links to an app on android/ios) and TBH, if I didn't have the Apex, I would buy the controller as well.
