Adding more rock to the sump/fuge is one way, but remember that the less rock work you have, you may also be trapping less waste and increasing water movement to suspend those DOCs to be removed by the skimmer. So it's possible to think that less rock work and biological filtration on one side can be counteracted by more flow and less dead spots for suspension in the water column.

here is my 75 that i just filled with water yesterday.

its about 45lbs of rock total, im going to add another 5lb rock or so to the right pile when it finishes cycling (its got my zoas on it)

All my PVC was glued, no holes. I bought the nylon threaded rods, washers and nuts from US Plastics

AJ_tsin, your tank is gorgeous! I love rimless aquariums. The aquascaping is great too. :)

I do have a question about minimalist aquascaping - figured this is a good place to ask. I really like simple aquascaping, so I'm thinking about doing it with my first reef. I also want to keep a lemonpeel angelfish, and I've heard that they need a lot of live rock to graze on. Is it possible to have an angelfish without a large amount of rock?

I have rescaped the tank since this pic to go with an even more minimalist clean finish to the system. I will upload those pics soon!

SunnyX, I love your tank! That's just what I want my reef to look like: simple, but with a nice variety of colorful corals and fish. Great job!
