Mo's 6ftx8ftx3ft SPS Reef Tank

Thanks Mo. I want to run the opposite really. 10ks centre and maybe blueing it out to the edges.

If the bulbs are close enough, there should be no issues at all.
In my tank, you can see different shades in different areas due to the front to back depth. Let me know how it goes.....

Your tank is beautifull. Are you still running the Bubble King skimmers and are you using a calcium reacter? Have you seen my friend Amfynn sunlit tank in the Large Tanks section? I think your tank would do great with a little natural sunlight.

Thanks.
Bubblekings are great skimmers. I have a BK300 int and a BK 500 ext. They pull out gallons of gunk a day!....

I have a DaStaCo Calcium reactor, like Luc Loyen's.... It's a great piece of kit!.

I will check that thread. I did consider putting skylights in, when I had the room built. In fact I have some in the same roof in front of tee tank, but didn't put them over the tank. I got put off when I was told of potential algae issues. It doesn't seem that would have been a problem seeing all of these sunlit tanks but it would be awkward to do it now, so not likely to happen...

This tank and build are incredible. An entire dedicated building for the tank, amazing! I am interested in what the plans are for the rest of the room that the tank is housed in, is this a lounge area, a bar room?

Thanks,

We had our kitchen extended into the driveway and I converted our garage into a room as well. The tank sits in there and we look into it from a breakfast bar area at the back of our kitchen....

I'd love to see some pics from that perspective and of the room. Sounds awesome!

I was just looking at this picture from 2 months ago.

So, I just went and took this..... When I look down on it, there is about 2/3 inch of growth and the far side has a bright blue leading edge too. This wasn't present 2 months ago.

I switched out 2 Fiji purples and have all blue since the last picture, which accounts for some of the difference in appearance.

Just amazing... U have def surpassed a lot of people's dream tank. Not sure if I missed it but do you have a fish list.

Thanks Matty,

I have
12 Bartlett Anthias
12 Lyretail Anthias
5 Banana wrasse
1 cosmetus wrasse
2 saddleback clowns
1 Regal Angel
1 11" Black tang
1 11" Naso tang
1 5" Gem tang
1 5" Tricolor tang
1 6" Guttatus Tang

I had some Moorish idols, another Regal angel and a pair of Bluelines which were ok, until I added some acans and decided to remove them.

I also lost my parrotfish, which jumped.... It was a complete stunner of a fish!.

I have another tank on the same system. It has
1 Gem Tang
1 Guttatus Tang
1 small Vlamingi Tang
1 Goldflake Angel
1 Regal Angel
8 Lyretail Anthias
6 Yellowtail Damsels
2 Perc clowns

Wow, how many gallons is this? I'm looking at that tank and wonder what the maintenance would be on it? How do you frag corals, or get to things within it? Water change schedule? That tank is amazing, but with me doing the maintenance on my 180 I can only imagine what doing things on that tank must be.

Also, I bet you have a good quarantine procedure? Can't imagine if you got any nasty pests in such a beautiful tank!

(LOL, I was holding my breath until the picture of the tank with water in it since I can't even imagine how you would leak test that and what would happen if it leaked!).

I found an older pic. Just after when I got it...

Hi, it's 1000 G.

Not fragging yet!, but I use long tongs to place corals and ecotech glue helps a lot!.

I do a weekly 100 G water change.

I have a 3 ft qt tank, but pests can still slip through!.... I dip in and out of it.
