My 240g FOWLR

I didn't do anything special with my rainfordi... treated it like any other butterfly.

I don't think so... most butterflies aren't really pod eaters that I'm aware of.

Ha! I used to do that too. First thing I caught when I moved to CA was a tarantula hawk! :eek2:

He has only been in the QT a day and hasn't looked at food yet. He hovers in the corner and runs for cover when I approach the tank. Condition wise he seems healthy, medium to fat and no lymph, head shaking, twitching, or rubbing that I can see. He is in his own 20 long and I'm hopping he will eat within the next week. He came in with a few other fish I ordered and the others are in a 45 all eating and looking healthy. I'm very happy with the quality of the LA facility and wouldn't hesitate to order from them. I'll try to get some pics up this weekend.

Hows the sunburst doing? Please tell me hes eating everything. That would be killer.

Peter

Did you add your butterflies one at a time? Whats the best way to add 4 butterflies to a DT? Obviously I would like to do it one at a time and go thru a seperate QT with each one slowly. My LFS guy told me I had to add all together. I dont even know why i asked him but now hes got me unsure since ive never done it....Heres what i want

mitratus
rainford
coradion
tinkeri

and hopefully a sunburst if thats even a possibility.

thoughts?

Thanks brother. Anything new to report on your gorgeous 240? Its almost like my day revolves on waiting for you to post pics. Im def jealous.

Thanks! No, not a whole lot to report. The tinkeri pair is still in QT, and probably won't hit the DT until the new year.

I suppose I can update the list:

Acanthurus leucosternon
Acanthurus fowleri
Pentapodus emeryii
Labroides dimidiatus
Chaetodontoplus meredithi
Pomacanthus asfur
Pomacanthus navarchus
Holacanthus tricolor
Pygoplites diacanthus
Centropyge loricula
Chaetodon burgessi
Chaetodon collare
Chaetodon declivis
Chaetodon declivis, ultra yellow morph
Chaetodon ephippium
Chaetodon falcula
Chaetodon fasciatus
Chaetodon flavirostris
Chaetodon mertensii
Chaetodon mitratus
Chaetodon paucifasciatus R.I.P. :(
Chaetodon rainfordi
Chaetodon semilarvatus
Chelmon marginalis
Chelmon muelleri
Chelmon rostratus "aussie" (moved to the fuge until he can compete for food better - will likely move him to the newly setup reef)
Parachaetodon ocellatus (found the smaller one stuck to the Tunze :()
Zanclus cornutus
Scarus quoyi
Amphiprion melanopus x 2
Chrysiptera hemicyanea
Chrysiptera parasema (turns out this fish is actually C. arnazae - hides most of the time.... may or may not still be alive)
Chrysiptera starcki x 2
Chrysiptera talboti x 2
Pomacentrus alleni X 2 (haven't seen the 3rd in a while, but they hide a lot, so she may still be alive)

Speaking of your Asfur, how is he doing? Is the hlle clearing up? I think I'm going to need to run mine through another round of meds before he hits the DT - I see him twitch his dorsal streamer semi-regularly. I have seen no evidence of disease other than this behavior, and no flashing. Ever seen yours do this?

Unfortunately, no. In the previous tank, it healed up quite well, not sure why it isn't this time :(

Is your Asfurs HLLE acquired thru copper for certain? Is the use of carbon really a risk for HLLE? Do you use carbon?
