My 748 Gal A.G.E. Aquaillumination SOL lit Texas Dream Tank Build!

Thanks Alton,

I just need to turn down the blue lights next time because you really can't see the coral colors with so much blue. In person it does not look like the video.

rb1685,

Your about 45 minutes from me & welcome to see it. I am always open to constructive ideas.

Are you on MARSH Houston board?

I am - same user name. I actually moved out to Bellville a few months ago, so a little bit further than 45 minutes. Still worth a trip though!

Added Libra Doser last week. Alk levels were all over the place with Ca reactor & Kalk Reactor.

that's precisely why I abandoned my CR and when to dosing Alk, Ca and Mg

could not keep alk below 10 while maintaining ca

Seem to be seeing this a lot lately. I recently switched from ca reactor to dosing because I couldn't get my ca and mg levels up and stay up without my alk going thru the roof. Now my levels are dead on where I want them.

the only CR I know of that maintains a steady Alk is the DaStaCo made in Belgium but are a little pricey, especially shipped to the US, great reactor though

Mine jumped to 13.7 one day & I had enough.

Steady for 7 days 8.68 hanna & 8.9 Red Sea. Ca at 450.

Trying to get alk to 9 & ca down to 425. MG is 1560.

Had to go thru 3 Libra stepper units to get one to work. The Distributor ended up testing & upgraded firmware before they sent the last one.

Great service.

I have 50g reservoirs each for Alk, Ca and Mg, each run off a BRS Doser controlled by Apex, has worked well over the years

I still have a GEO 1218 on line with water running through it but C02 off, just in case I need to supplement the dosing as the tank matures

AJT, I wouldn't worry about getting Ca down, I just focus on Alk which in my tank stays close to 8, Ca runs 460-550, I keep Mg a little high at 1800 intentionally with Brightwell Magnesion P to keep my Bryopsis in check

Alkalinity is inversely related to available Calcium, so as alkalinity gets higher there is less available calcium for corals to utilize, you may have noticed that when alkalinity is lower calcium rises, that's why our tanks tend to do better at alkalinity levels less than 10
