My humble SPS journey - Shallow 80g

Awesome pics Josh, sorry for losing track of your journal but i'm definitely on board now. :)

I'll take no 5 since you and Dom don't want it..........:p

Thanks Andrew I appreciate it.

Who said I didn't want it! :p

Hopefully the water column will clear up today so I can get a photo update in, if not I'll try this weekend. I got all of the acros placed (except the new ones), and actually changed the aquascape entirely so it should be an interesting update. ;)

The new lower rock scape is much better Josh, things are looking great buddy. :)

What is that gorgeous tang called :love2:

Nice Josh!
When things grow out it is going to be a stunner of a reef! Love those frags, and great colors too :)

Thanks Andrew. :) The tower in the old aquascape was for a Magnifica anemone, but seeing as I'm looking for colorations that're absurdly rare (at least stateside), it may be a while before I find one... if ever lol. So I decided to change things up a bit and I will reaquascape should I find one in the future.

The tang is a white tail bristletooth tang, or Ctenochaetus flavicauda. It's really a stunning fish, I'm really happy to own mine.

Nice pics josh!
Love the setosa and SSC!
5th pic is it pink lemonade?

Thanks Mike, yes that is a pink lemonade. :)

Thanks Perry! Colors aren't perfect yet but they're improving for the most part, hopefully now that they're placed I can get them to color up even better. I have to imagine that having them on the rack so long probably held them back some.

Tank looks great Josh! Keep up the great work and the updates!

Thanks Patrick, I appreciate it buddy. Looking forward to your new tank in January.

Josh,
Just curious why you chose this skimmer over the Vertex? I have been looking at that Vertex.

Where was the frag swap?

I chose the AquaMaxx because I read too many people saying they had a hard time dialing in their Vertex, and I didn't want something I had to fool with too much.

The frag swap was October 17th at the Oleika Shrine Temple, this was the second one held locally and it had a pretty good turn out.

Nice.
The left hand side has a good flow to it and I actually like the way the sand is getting blown around..

Thanks Matt! I'm really happy with the new aquascape, I just need to leave things alone for a while now and stop tinkering. :p

Oh wow, oh wow! :inlove: Love the pics mate and everything is looking stunnging, you've certainly got some excellent choice in corals and everything is looking awesome, those first zoa's are AMAZING! And the bristletooth is just stunning too :) Never thought 'd say this but I'm loving my Kole :) He's really settled in like a champ!

Yeah tangs are awesome, glad I was able to keep the white tail from my brothers tank breakdown. It's a really beautiful fish and rarely pops up for sale anymore it seems, stateside anyways. Thanks. :D

I have two new fish and a wellso brain coming in tomorrow, sorry about the flubber. :( lol

This acro has been in color limbo for the past week and a half

My sump came in! I ended up going with the Tideline 36 by Trigger Systems. I didn't know about this sump until like a week ago and when I did I knew that was the sump for me. Thanks to Fragtastic Reef I was able to order one of these beauties and they shipped it to me in perfect condition, I couldn't be happier!

I will take another photo of it later, enjoy. :)

What a sexy sump...looks like a Ferrari next to my beat up sump :lolspin:

Here's where the frag pack from Adam is at, I'm going to move all of them up besides the smooth skin because I feel like they have enough zooxanthellae.

Also got in a piece of flubber, you guys will have to forgive me, I have to have a few pieces of LPS in my tank.
