Update...

So I updated my AC3 2 days ago. Everything seems to be working fine until this afternoon when all of a sudden, I was not able to connect to my AC at work. I was able to connect to it quite a few times this morning. When I got home at 7pm, I found my AC frozen on the data page ie. Temp ph ph2 etc and the buttons were not responsive. The data on the screen was showing the data a few hours back; must had been the last set of data before it was frozen. The MH lightings were all ON when they should had been turn off after 6pm. Worst off, the MH lights were supposed to be off when the temp was greater than 81.5 but that did not happen. The temp was at 83.2!! I didn't get any email alert either. So other words, the AC was completely frozen. I power cycled it and now it is working fine. Any ideas?

FWIW, I have been using the Yahoo!Widget program called aquastatus for a few days to pull the data out of the AC every minute and show them like a little pop-up screen. No problems until today. I will un-install it from my work computer tomorrow.

This is driving me nuts

This is driving me nuts

I cannot get this update to work. Neither option A or B is working. With option A, i get the below results:

>> Connect .. OK!
>> Sent Login .. OK!
>> Sent Password .. OK!
Check version .. OK!
Version [3.30000]

and it sits there. The controller reboots, but it is still on version 3.30S 8C07.

When I try option B; I get similar results.

I have directly connected an ethernet cable from my PC to the controller in order to make this a simpler process, but that didn't work.

The self test passes displaying 6371.

Any thoughts? I really want to update the unit in order to use the iPhone app that I updated.

Thanks,
Karl

When I did it with option A, I had the same thing happened and I had to hit the firmware upgrade button again and then it started uploading.

I got exactly same error. Option B worked for me though.

try ENABLE email ?

Also, did you test to make sure the ALM timer is getting triggered? Ken's AC simulator is really helpful for things like this.

I was able to get mine updated this way, but I used a computer to computer cable, not a standard ethernet cable.

finally got mine updated! I think...

but on the webserver, under graph it says "error loading file: Data_default.txt"

something Im missing?

Just no data in the datalogs yet. Wait tell you see something in the datalogs, and then it will show something in the graphs.

ah, you are correct good sir.

all looks good now!

so last question, can it log it more frequently than every 60min? is that an option? kinda curious for more of a real time chart of temp to see just how often the chiller is kicking on.

Curt:

Are there any plans to add the SSL option to the Email setup? Lots of the ISPs now a days require that in order to combat the increased spam out there. Unfortunately, since AC is missing that, I am having a hard time finding an ISP that will allow me to send emails without SSL connection.

Curt,

I have an ACIII. It seems that I need to update the firmware to get the iphone application working, but the link to the controller's firmware beta version download at the start of this thread isn't working for me.

What can I do?

Start from the back of the thread and work forward. There have been new beta versions posted later in the thread which disabled the earlier downloads.
