new camera and lens - pics showoff time!!!

Thanks everyone!

VERY NICE!!! How do you keep the SPS from encrusting over each other?

All of my colonies are encrusted on their own live rock so I can move them around. Although that's harder to do now because of the lack of space.

I hate the look of plugs and discs because they look unnatural so I avoid them if I can. I usually mount the frags or frag discs onto small rubble rock when I get them and as they outgrow the rubble rock, I mount them again onto larger rock.

insane tank, Wayne! Thanks for sharing!!

Do you happen to have a pic of the tank before the corals went in? Like, just the rock work?

Did you take the video with your camera? And if I remember correctly, you're using a Canon 5D Mark III? Which lens are you using?

Yeah I did and yes I do. I used the Canon 100mm 1:2.8L macro lense for the close ups and the 24-105mm lens for the wider shots.

This is the coral I was referring to:

Oh yeah, that's exactly what it is. Sorry I thought you meant to the right of goni. I grew that Space invader from a frag smaller than an inch. My biggest problem with it now is keeping it from stinging anything. It's got some serious sweepers!

Wayne I got a small one eye frag from Sanh at cfm in Feb and it has more than doubled in size in 3 months! and it did sting a watermelon chalice (of course when I left town) and killed a nice size edge (it has since grown back) but man those sweepers are incredible and they are out all day. Does your pectinia exhibit this behavior too or is mine just psycho killer?

No mine is pretty lethal too but the sweepers disappear once the lights come on. A few branches of my pearlberry got a little too close and got stung, but those are the only casualties.

My meteor shower frag fell on some palys I have overnight, and when I noticed this morning that it was upside down, it has a circle of tissue loss :( I can't imagine what my brains or Euphylia corals would do if it was close to them
