New ORA Release: Blue Iris Acro

I have never been overwhelmed by any of the ORA corals based on the pics seen. Then again, we are spoiled up here in Canada.

I agree that it does not look like a granulosa, and honestly, alot of ORA stuff is starting to look a lot alike. Roscoe, Borealis, Joe the Coral, Blue voodoo stag all look almost identical (i have one of each in my aquarium). Does anyone else notice this?

IDK, I have a pearlberry, cali tort, red planet and a Hawkins echinata and they don't look alike at all! ;)

Here it is :D hope Cy doesn't mind me posting his pic...

That is ugly. ORA needs to stop releasing these common corals. IMO they need to limit their releases to high end stuff. They're only running their name in the mud. Just my .02 cents ;)

Lol. Basser, you would be correct that those look nothing alike. The ones you listed couldn't be more different.

For other, while a few of the pieces, roscoes, Joe the coral and blue voodoo stag may have similar colors, when you work at a store and stare at them all day you begin to notice how different they really are.

I also have the frogskin and it looks an awful like a green version or the Ora tort IMO

I think it has lots of potential. That looks like an Icefire Enchinata in 6500k lighting IMO...

Does this help:

I put it in photoshop, pulled the green and red down and bumped the blue. Probably close to a 20k bulb.

I have a feeling people will change their minds when they see it under 14-20k...

Shhhh! You peeps are all ruining it for me. Now it'll be limited, and cost me an arm and a leg to be one of the first to get it :uzi:

It looks like the Purple & Green Austera I have. The picture of the ORA Blue Iris looks similar to my ORA Cali Tort (blue with some green in the base). They need to come out with a nice yellow & pink acropora similar to the Pink Lemonade.

It's an ORA coral, chances are it'll already be priced fairly high (at least by West Coast standards ;)), and be quite limited in numbers stores get. Has ORA changed their policy in the last few years on that?

Based upon what I saw from Ora it will be priced in line with the red planet, bellina, phils granulosa, etc. Right now I do also believe there Is a order limit of 1.

I'm underwhelmed with this one, other than an interesting growth pattern, it just looks like brown with a little purple in it to me... I don't get how ORA has al of these devout coral followers... I only really like phil's grandulosa, the yellow fuzzy, and the hawkins enchinata... But thats just me.

well, to be fair ORA takes their pics in natural sunlight- I highly doubt the coral is brown. It's probably a very nice coral, it's just way too similar looking to a lot of their recent offerings IMO. They sure do like blue/green corals over at ORA.
