I posted this on another thread but i took it tonight. I t might be the last image of the tank underneath the entire halide set. Actually i have allready removed one halide from the back side and replsced it with a small comercial led unit...I will try to take some more soon before i change over all the way.

Fantastic tank and thread. That is some crazy collection of SPS you got in there. Do you ever sell and ship frag packs?

Did I miss you talking about your lighting schedule, maintenance, equipment, what you dose, feeding, ect?

Wow, keep up the grat work.

would love to see the the sump setup love the fish and the corals what else do you feed the fish i didn't know broccoli was something they would eat what else is there?

Do you just POUR calcium straight into the tank and watch the coral desolve it into themselves!

Holly cheesses.

That thing is packed!

Just refilled the ca reactor. Its been 60 days since last filled ,added about almost an entire bucket of the 4 killo or almost 8.8 pounds. Looks like the tank is using between 3 and four pounds of reactor media per month.

The love broccoli but it makes a mess. They are mostly fed fresh nori and fresh squid or steamer clams. Been feeding some of these fish the same thing for almost ten years. That's the only reason the copperband has thrived. I hand feed her fresh but frozen squid or steamers every day. Every day for going on 7 or 8 years. She thrives on that though and the other guys eat anything they can catch...

So far today have removed 800 watts of halides and replaced with 150 watts of LEDs. The section of the tank that was previously lit by the two halides looks much brighter and the penetration from the LED lamps is at least as deep as he halides. The color is crisp and looks like a 12 or 13 K lamp. Not near as blue as a 14 K and much whiter than a 10 K or 20 K. I like it. Since the sourse of the light is more diffused than the two halide points the shadows are less intense and the light gets up under the shadowed pieces much better. Will record some images soon. Now to get to work on two more fixtures....

How often and how much do you feed as the fishes get bigger?Any water issues?Thx

I feed at least once daily, I feed one half sheet of norri and a piece of frozen squid the size of a small plum. If i feed steamers instead of squid, i give them three. Occationally I will feed again in the afternoon but less than weekly. Other than that, the fish graze constantly and i recycle rocks thorugh the sump and I drop algae that i pick in the sumps back in the main tank sometimes. If the clown fish digs too much in the deep sand bed portion of the sump i do have water issues and i change at least 30 sometimes 60 gallons of water per week. Undoubtably the tank would be easier to keep and the corals would probably look better without the bg fish. Having the fish does add a bit of extra work to keeping the system stable.
