Norwegian 133G Zeovit Reef

I hope so Sahin :)

The tank has been running on its own since April. I am struggling with cyano, brown algae and macro algae. I have finally got everything I need to start Zeovit. So now I will start the fight agains algae.

I started the zeo reactor on saturday 23 of May.

The reactor is ready to get filled with Zeolith.

I have bought these products:

For Zeovit:
Zeovit (Zeoliths)
Zeobak
Zeostart
Sponge Power
KZ activated Carbon

Additives:
Amino Acid
Pohl's A Balance
Pohl's B Balance
Pohl's K Balance
Pohl's Xtra
Pohl's Coral Vitalizer
Zeospur

Will only dose basic Zeovit and Amino Acids until first change of Zeoliths (6-8 weeks). After that I will start with some of the other additives.

I took some quick photos for future referance.

A. sp. I almost lost my blue tabling Acropora. This is one of the frags who have survived this far.

A. Microclados is not happy with its placement. Will move this as it need more light. The tissue is also a little weird atm.

My A. Awi is bleached. Don't know why. Have two other frags at the same space and they are just fine.

That A. Turkai is looking amazing. I need a piece of that! :D Good luck with the Zeovit. Take it easy though-stuff can be unforgiving if you make error or push too hard.

PS I sent Private Message some weeks back, if you can reply, that would be great. Thanks.

Thank you Sahin. I wasn't sure if I was going to have the Turaki in this setup. But I am glad I decided to go for it this time too. I was a bit tired of this one in my old setup. It grows way too fast for my taste:lolspin:

I'll be careful with the zeovit system. I'll start slow and increase when the Acroporas are healthier.

Answered your PM now :)

How are the corals doing my friend? Hope all is well. Many thanks for the PM's regarding the Balling lite - most useful.

Does the Sarmentosa has pink tips? Or is this all green variety? Years ago I had pink tip with green base. Was stunning. Not found one since.

A few weeks ago a friend gave me a small frag. It is bright green, but no pink tips.

No problem Sahin :) Happy to help.

The Sarmentosa looked like this after shipping:

I hope it develops pink tips, but we'll see. Most of the Acroporas are beginning to get some colour back, so it will be interesting to see how they develop when I start to dose more of the KZ additives.

Yup, from the initial shipment photo, it looks like it had pink tips. :) Hope it colours up nicely for you.

Yes I hope so too Sahin!

The Zeovit reactor I bought was marked as "1,5 liter" but I found out when I filled it with Zeovit stones that it is full at around 850-900 ml. This is not ideal for my system so I have ordered a Vertex RX-Z 1.5 Zeovit reactor from a fellow reefer in the US.

Looking forward to start this one up! I am weak for the red tubing:bounce3:

Thank you Sahin.

Here is an update with the Zeovit system. I have had low CA for some while. I am dosing extra CA now to get it up.

These were the water paramters on the 6th of June:

no3: 0
po4: 0,04 ppm
mg: 1300
kh: 9
ca: 350
k: 410

I have now changed the Zeo dosing to:

Zeostart: 0,5 ml x 2 per day
Zeobak: 5 drops x 3 times a week
Sponge Power: 5 drops per day

I have taken some pictures to compare from I started the Zeovit reactor. Not much changes yet. But all Acroporas look healthier and have better PE, and finally most of the Acroporas are finally starting to grow!

Will be following along buddy. Colours look pretty good already on some pieces. Lets see the Zeovit magic now. :)

That Hawkins Echinata looking acro is looking soooo nice...want a piece of that VERY badly. But cannot find one. :( Had one for a couple of months years ago...lost it to AEFW though...:(

Hey buddy, how is the tank? How are you? Been a couple of months since you started Zeovit, how are things going?

Hi Sahin!

I'm fine thanks :) How are you? I haven't done much with the tank over the summer. Only fed the fish and done the daily zeovit routine. The nutritients are close to 0 and the tank is doing fine (although the A. Aculeus is struggling for unknown reasons).

I will soon start to add more KZ products. Will start after my vacation in the end of September:bounce3:

But one thing this week that wasn't that nice:

I bought a coral for 250$ from another reefer. I had to drive for almost two hours to pick it up. And when I got there he already had packed the coral. In poor light I couldn't inspect it other than see that it surely was the largest f'ing Acropora Pearlberry I'd ever seen.

Look at this size!

But when I got home and was about to acclimate and make it ready for iodine dip I lifted it up to inspect for AEFW. The seller promised me that it hadn't any aefw (I know he had aefw a couple of years ago, but he said he hadn't seen any flatworms in over a year). I always dip and look closely at all Acroporas that I add to the aquarium. I was therefore really upset when I saw this when I examined it closer.

The Acropora Pearlberry was packed with AEFW eggs! Several thousands without exaggerating. I had to throw this bigass coral out. What a shame. And the worst part, the seller refuses to give me my money back. Really ****ed about this.

No, from a 30 x 25 cm big piece it was not possible to frag an inch without bitemarks and FW on it. I saw a flatworm that was so big that I saw it without macro or magnyfier. I have a tank full of Aussie acroporas and couldn't take the risk with so many eggs on the coral. I tried to dip some frags, but they where so infected that I gave up. I threw out the whole piece and it is lying in my back yard for now :deadhorse1:

This guy was selling all his corals because he was going to put the tank down. You can imagine why...

That is so irresponsible. I cannot understand why people would knowingly sell AEFW infected acros. I know too well the "punch in the stomach" one gets when they discover AEFW in their tank...wouldnt want anyone else to go through it.

Just for $$$ that guy would knowingly sell acros to others who potentially have $$$$$'s invested in a healthy tank...man, people like that really make me angry...

Such a shame that colony was infested.

If it were me, I'd be leaving feedback on all the forums that guy is a member of...leave the photos there...those photos with AEFW egg should get most people steering clear of this guy. :mad2:

Yeah, it sucks. I've done that, but the guy doesn't care. He is selling everything and doesn't bother to tell the buyers that he still has AEFW. Guys like that ruins this hobby.

Here are som photos from a week ago.
