OT - Snowmageddon

We make it thru the storm without losing power...then 45 minutes ago, power goes out:-(. Generator kicked on, so it should be ok...but hopefully they get it back before nighttime.

I took a tour of town. Our secondary roads look great, but the highway is one lane and many roads in Southington have room for only one car in one direction at a time. ***? I know there was a ton of snow, but if the highways aren't clear, what are they plowing sinc the snow stopped 9 hours ago?!

Down here in Cranston 26" as of channel 10 hard to tell with the 5-6" drifts driving ban is off in ri at 400pm police were pulling drivers over and towing cars, major fine and 6 month loss of liscense

Driving ban is supposed to be off at 4 here, too, but roads are one lane all over the place and it's crazy out there. I've never seen so many parking lots still unplowed 10 or more hours after a blizzard. Where are all the plows? I just don't understand the added logistics of an extra foot of snow. :-)

We used to wait days after a big storm for a plow, but lately our town has all these guys in pickups everywhere. I can't imagine what we're paying for that.

It took me 6 hours, but I cleared my walks, driveway, and made a path for my trash cans. I still have to get up on a ladder and finish with the roof rake. One of the extension joints is seized up and I can't extend it all the way. :P

At least we kept power, internet, phone, TV... this time.

my road hasn't been plowed yet. what better way to keep people off the streets then do the side roads last . makes sense to me.

well I just finished shoveling. plow couldn't get down the street. state truck came and turned right around haha.

I thought they plowed my street but it was just a private guy plowing a swath to get to the driveways of his customers. Lucky for me one is just past our house. My husband went out to get more gas for the genny and he says the roads are awful.

I just spent 2hrs digging out the plow truck that was supposed to take care of my driveway. Needless to say my driveway didn't get plowed. My driveway is about 100yds long and I'm all the way at the end. The second guy that came out couldn't do it either, nice.

Still powerless in old lyme... Damn snow!!

At least the genny is running (knock on wood) and the wood stove is keeping the house warm.

I still havent seen a plow over here yet. Luckily I still havent lost power or anything at all yet. Front door was snowed shut this morning. Had to sneak out the back door and shovel out the front lol

30 inches here in Milford. Still no plows around our street. Must have spent 6 hours today shoveling driveway. Shoulders are killing me. Fortunately no outages. Hopefully the city plows secondary roads tomorrow. Looks like '78 all over again.

Keeping warm with wood stove and building lots of snow forts with the kids. These are the days they'll remember all their lives.
