Our 1000 gal in Canada

isn't it funny in the pics it looks kinda small, until you see all the fish in it and know the sizes of the fish!

love those pyramid butterflies.

Hope the ich gets under control too!

Thanks for the pics of the skimmer Frank! Tank looks fantastic, can't wait to see what it looks like a year from now.

Thank you for your comments

I have to say that after all I'm happy since this is the original batch of fish.

The ick is under control and kinda of cyclic but there is enough inverts to deal with it plus the UV avoids any major issues.

curious about mangroves. i know alot of people use a seed to start, but can you do a cutting (the kind that plant growers and tree growers do? just the stem and plant it? will that grow?)

i ask, because i dont have 6 ft under my tank!

Of course not haha

It will be great if mangroves can do that so far my experience is that you cut these guys the wrong way and there goes the whole plant.

Maybe that is why they aren't that popular either cheap sometimes.

NICE Frank! Most ppl that I know and have tried don't mist the leaves regularly w/FW nor give them enough light for mangroves to really do their work ;).

This hobby is full of myths

This hobby is full of myths

Myths or Mythology that's what really goes on all the time.

From "the mysterious disease that Dory (blue hippo tang ) used to carry and that is why all my fish keep dying."

To "if there is no purple coralline algae something is wrong"

I think I have heard all of them...

Sometimes I like to visit stores and hear the tale stories that comes from some people..

Some other times I love what people have to say to me too haha

Anyhow here is my pic of the day...

Awesome build, man I don't check these forums enough and miss all the great ones, at least with this I didn't have to suffer the agony of waiting and can see it build in one timely manner.

I love your glass, really do... how thick is that front pane? Looks like its at least a couple inches (or 5cm :D) thick.

Also I know this is your tank build, but I've fallen in love with your high ceilings, and the cupola in the central area.

Ah, so this was the tank you were talking about Frank! Very nice. Is that the hogfish causing you so much trouble in the last picture? =D

Regards,

Chris (From SUM!)

tank is amazing. how much did it cost to set up and run. im only 15 but in the future i would love a big tank like this. i have some hope of being able to do a shark tank this big but a reef i would need a real job for because my 125 is already extremely expensive and my parents complain about me buying stuff al the time lol.

thank you
