Our 1000 gal in Canada

Hey Paul,

well I don't have those residuals. But could you have a pic for the people of Seachem they will be very interested...

This salt is controlled in small batches just like medication to ensure highest quality

Cheers!

Will do on my next water change :lol2:!!

Thank you!

Paul

I have a feeling the "line across the piece of glass" is just a centre wax line marker for the "arm" suction cups to grab on for stability without breaking the glass? Maybe ... just an assumption especially with glass ... yikes!!

BTW ... Frank ... do the mangroves have their own separate skimmer?

Oh tha line

Oh tha line

curious, why is there a line across the piece of glass? is that a centered line for lifting, or is there 2 pieces o glass butted together? (maybe one of the laminations??

and that looks cool!

Love all the theories about the line but no a lot simpler the line you see is nothing but the black vinyl applied to the back and sides since they have no larger sizes of black vinyl Miracles decided to put 2

<a href="http://s1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/?action=view&current=DSCN1314.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/DSCN1314.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Perhaps that line is part of a protective coating on the glass for shipping purposes (?).

Dave.M

Hey Dave thanks but no good guess....

This is the main panel which broke twice while at the tempering place

Man should I know this I'll offer a free pail of salt to the winner...

Regarding the Mangrove the answer is no, the skimmer you see in this particular filter is the main skimmer for the whole system.

I agree that skimmers should be the first line of filtration on a system.

This filters is 2 tiers

The water comes first to face the skimmer then the forest of Mangroves and then goes down to face UV and Carbon and to be loaded with Ca,Alk and Mag

The external overflow lying there

<a href="http://s1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/?action=view&current=DSCN1278.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/DSCN1278.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

One of the objectives ( and challenges ) with this system was to avoid any distractions or foreign objects inside the tank.

So I did formulating a system where the current goes form east to west creating a constant flow and avoiding dead zones and alternates thanks to an Oceans Motions TM

<a href="http://s1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/?action=view&current=DSCN1817.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/DSCN1817.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So the overflow went to the west and the four returns controlled by the OM went to the east.

The Cove

The Cove

Thank you

The rocks are from Indonesia and the sand is oolitic aragonite depending where you are there are many brands available

<a href="http://s1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/?action=view&current=DSCN2237.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee463/Symphy68/The%20Works%203/DSCN2237.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

i use that same sand, and it looks by far the best i have ever seen.
my only downside is that it is not made for a SPS reef.
it does move around with too much flow. (i like that it never turns purple like the more course sand does.)

I have some SPS that are doing great I will show you in my next set of new pics

And yes this sand likes drama but that is good too once settled everywhere brings with it all the goods..

As well disturbing the bottom is good to offer food to all the live stock.
