Our 1000 gal in Canada

Thank you

Thank you

tank is amazing. how much did it cost to set up and run. im only 15 but in the future i would love a big tank like this. i have some hope of being able to do a shark tank this big but a reef i would need a real job for because my 125 is already extremely expensive and my parents complain about me buying stuff al the time lol.

Please tell your parents that you are making a magnificent investment.

I congratulate you for your efforts and commit you to stay focus with your education.

Sharks are a poor choice as you may find out with some little research. Better leave them in the ocean.

But corals and certain fish are more than suitable particularly those artificially propagated.

Good luck!

simply amazing! a true jaw-dropper from start to finish. your tank is a huge inspiration. do you think it would be possible to keep the mangroves successfully in a way that would be displayable? i was thinking down the road i might attempt to put mangroves in a shallow acrylic tank on a very short stand (maybe a foot), plumb it through the wall to the tank and light it with mh pendants. do you think there would be any drawbacks/problems setting it up this way?

also, your tank has such a natural feel, i was wondering about your stocklist. how many fish and shrimp do you have in there? seems like you have around 20 tangs!

Hey, I'm in Toronto as well and was wondering where you got the Rubbermaid stock tanks from...if you could PM me I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you so much

Well I strongly recommend to use a shallow tray, tank, refugium etc etc.

When Mangroves grow in shallow containers their ability to stretch slows down according to my personal observations but they do not stop growing.

Critters

Critters

I recommend that in order for things to go well a good ecosystem needs an ample base of critters to clean, reproduce and serve as food, and to maintain in places you will never reach (lets be honest here LOL)

I have here 50 Tangs in total but my list of shrimps is more impressive. with 240 in total between cleaners, bloods, boxers( 3 types) and peppermints
Snails and crabs make another bunch

I personally don't like walls of rock so Islands and caves are more natural

I got this Calcium reactor and what a piece so instead of returning it I decided to modified and I did now its working properly

The skimmer went down one milk crate ( really didn't notice much difference ) the amount of skimmed gunk is enough to disgust the most daring aquarist hehehehe

Clam Garden

Clam Garden

Originally I thought about what to put in between the 2 islands.

Then talking and storming ideas I suppose to design a clam collectors corner in the fish room but then I said why not a garden Clam?

So Here are the 2 new members
