Benson0219//Wow, what a tank. I have a 40 gallon breeder that is my first saltwater tank. I do hope to someday have a large tank. This is very inspiring.

I too will keep you and your wife in my prayers!

Well, now I noticed :p

My family lives in a house of prog, so naturally there is Rush, Dream Theater, Transatlantic and all those on the stereo all the time. I've only managed half a dozen Rush concerts so far (my first was when I was 4), but it grows every year :)

Anyway, I don't want to go off track too much (unless you'd like me to ;) ), so I had a question. Overall, how much did this build cost (that includes tank, piping, ripping up of walls, tank furniture, etc.)?

Lets just say when the build got to 10k I stopped keeping track, I'll update my excel spreadsheet someday.

Great video, it looks fantastic right now and it will look even better in a year.

Glad your wife is doing better.

The music is distorted in the video...is it Rush? I couldn't tell.

Well I finally got around to hooking up the collection cup of my skimmer to my homes sewer connection. No more possibility of skim all over the floor. When I want to clean the skimmer all I do is remove the cover slosh a johnny mop turn the skimmer air supply back on then the skimmer pushes all the residue out and down the drain.
Now I need to finish the ato system and the electrical connections.

Great build thread!

I wish I could have used the Sola lights on my tank, but the wife drew the line at cutting into the roof.

Good music in the video

Just found this from AJT's thread. Fantastic build! Beautiful tank! Love the fish selection.
Your taste in music is acceptable too. ;) Seen Rush a few times myself; great band/music/show.

As previously mentioned, sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis but glad things are looking up.

I have a question about your skimmer. On MRC's website their pic of the MRC6r is different from the one you are using. Their's show two chambers, while yours is only one. Can you explain the differences? The reason why I'm asking is I need to upgrade my modified MR-1 on my 400.

Also, MRC rates the MRC6r for 1450 gallons. Why did you pick a skimmer that's rated almost 4-times your take size?

Thanks
