well hi everyone i just registered and i have a spare 10 gallon tank with hood light filter and undergravel filter. i was thingking about getting a peackcock mantis. would about 2 peices of live rock about 8 lbs and some crushed coral and a buried peice of pvc pipe.. what all do they eat?

live clams, hermit crabs, snails, krill soaked in vitamins and selco, fresh fish, squid... I spoil mine, the wife complains I feed it better than her (then again, she watches Fuzzy as much as I do and wants me to teach her how to feed her)

I tried live mussels, and they just died a day later and mucked up the tank, oysters, even small ones, have pretty thick shells.

I'm going to try these guys out:

from what Dr. Roy said the little red shrimp should be lunch on the hoof (as it were) for a mantis

I'm not sure what else you have for filtration but don't use the undergravel. They aren't effective with saltwater tanks, or even for freshwater really, especially since you will have a burrowing animal.
